  1. I have always lived carefully. Not in the traditional sense of the word- I can jump off rocks or go skydiving, but when it comes to trust and affairs of the heart, carefully is the only word to describe my actions. I carefully built a wall around my heart many years ago, and I have carefully maintained the wall, and carefully kept it in function.

  11. I won’t make it. I’m sure to punch through, somewhere, to break something, to shout out loud, and give it all up. Who don’t have to try, they just do it right.

Are there underlying fears, fear that perhaps, if she doesn’t over-think, things will go wrong? One can’t be sure. All one can do is hope that maybe things work out for the best.

So all she can do is tread carefully down the hallway, through the shattered glass of her mind.
