  10. Cello. Reminds me of the Soloist, which I won’t lie, I really couldn’t get into. The book was great- well, what I remember of it from being passed out in the back of his car. God, the stomach pain was one of the worst things I’ve felt in my life, complete with crippling nausea and being naked on accident when I woke up. Strange world.

  15. cellos are a musical instrument used mainly for the production of classical music. They are wind instruments which mean you have to blow through them to create a sound. They are for old fashioned people.

  16. he sat down with the bow in his hand. It was almost time for the concert. He’d never been sure he could play the cello before. This time was different. He didn’t have a choice. This was his fate, his final stand. This was his time to be heard. Finally.

  17. To me a cello is a simple musical instrument, something boring, something which doesn’t counjure up any images of wonder or amazement. But for somebody else a cello is an expression of art, creativity, beauty. A cello could represent the different paths we as humans choose to take in life, or it could simply be a lifeless commodity.

  21. I once met a man while I was travellin’ south. We met at a train station, in the shiverin’ cold. I thought, to my err, he was a transient unclean. But, replied he, he was a musician of great fame!
He pulled forth his weapon, and taught me my error.

  23. I walked into the darkened room, which was the next stage of this puzzle. A spotlight shone on the middle of the chamber, illuminating a cello and a chair. I quizzically stared at it for a moment, then sat down and moved the bow across the string. Nothing happened.

  24. The cellist stood on the stage, spotlight on, sweat dripping. The mahogany instrument suddenly felt unfamiliar in his hands. However when the piano introduction began, he simply closed his eyes, and played.

  25. The cello is a large instrument of the strings family. It has a beautiful deep cello sound. It is also mentioned in Pachebal’s Rant that the person used to play the cello, and was hunted out by the bullies, like a wounded gazelle in the plains that was being hunted by cheetahs. Also, the cello is in the Orchestra version of “The Final Countdown”, a hit done by the band Europe.

  26. I knew someone who played the cello once, although now that I say that I think it was actually a viola. I did see her play with cello players sometimes. I think I remember the first time I saw a cello or learned what it was, someone in the school band. Actually I think I did know someone who played it! Her name was Andrea. She moved away before senior year of high school.

  27. the beautiful sound of a cello. it never ceases to amaze me how relaxing, how deep and yet sweet they sound. i used to listen to my brother play. i still smile every time i see one and ask for silence any time i hear one. it’s the wood, the color, the shape. it’s all of it together – beautiful.

  28. The sound of the cello melodiously flowed past them
    blindly moving,
    Her fingers flowing
    She didn’t see.
    Until it was too late
the bullet– flight straight, yet untrue
The neck snapping, wires springing away
    The end.

  30. The cello is very difficult to play as it does not fit easily under one’s chin. Ofter you will see people balance it on the floor instead. LOL that is a joke. All stringed instruments are lovely in their way.

  32. simple sound, so low and sweet, not like it’s smaller cousin. it’s a different tone, a different feel. something larger, carries more wieght, carries more burden, more sorrow. the keening wails of the smaller cousin are lost among the tones of the larger one, whose pain is lingering, rumbling, feeling it in your heart, in your feet, in your bones, not just in your head. the earth, not the wind.

  36. cellist. people who are cellists are simply interesting but have an air of arrogance. I realize that this is obviously a generalization as I do not know many cellists. Looked at differently, “cello” rhymes with “jello”, and actually you don’t have to look at it too differently. Cello does in fact always rhyme with jello. I have always had an issue with spelling the word rhythm.

  40. is a beautiful instrument. I once saw a guy play a cello at a show and it really made me want to learn how to play. I’ve been looking for someone to teach me but I can’t find anyone who knows how to play a classical instrument. I think its a dying thing which depresses me.
