I ride my breaks like a 16 year old approaching his first “score;” perhaps with too much pressure. As my face approaches the unforgiving asphalt a moment is all I have to wonder if my cheeks will look more like a pocked moon surface or Mississippi mudslide.

  12. Chrome. I remember my english test in 9th grade. We had to define the word chrome and i had absolutely no idea what it meant. chrome… color. It always reminds me of a car, the word chrome that is. I’m not really sure why. Chroooooooooooooooome.

  17. Tables and chairs at the 50’s diner. Fender Benders, in Glendora with my crazy crazy grandmother. She thought I was being Buddhist, but I really just like incense. A very Christian lady… crazy crazy grandmother. Whenever I see chrome I think of my reflection in the table legs after I wiped them down with a moist towelette. “To keep away germs,” she said.

  32. It was a silly day for me to forget my arm. I mean I’d remembered everything else, including all the weird looking accessories for my head. The doctor had told me that they were all neccessary, but I seriously doubt any of them were a usefull a fucking left arm!

    Anyway, I missed the bus freaking out about it.

  35. He couldn’t decide on the extras. How about bucket seats? Did he really want a dashboard refrigerator? What about a laser-guided horn? Would the seat belts be chains or licorice? How about the interior roof–did he want a copy of Guernica or just some sprayed graffiti? A chandelier dome light? And would a chrome steering wheel be too slippery?

  37. i hurried down the hall and found myself in a room ive never seen,it was all shiny chrome and white walls.cold and sterile.there was movment,it took me a second to realize it was my reflection,a large mirrior hung oppsite the door.i could’t even recgonize myself in this getup .I had to wonder,is this really me? I steped closer,ran my fingers along my face.what have they turned me into,all made up and shiny and plastic like this fake chrome mirrior i suddenly wanted to break that mirror into amillion little bits.I swiftly turned and made my way to the wash room determined to scrub away this mockery of what i stand for,damn whatever happens.
