  1. The chrysalis seemed to glare at me. I knew that wasn’t really possible. But in the frame of mind I was in everything seemed to be accusing me. Everyone and everything seemed to know about my indiscretion. But of course that wasn’t true. ONly guilt will do that to you.

  5. We hadn’t seen any in the garden in years. The butterflies in the area seemed to go astray when Mom’s garden got moved from the side yard to the back. But when I saw the chrysalis hanging from the bush behind the kitchen, we were ecstatic.

  16. Is a beautiful word. It’s the shell that holds a butterfly larva until it becomes a butterfly. I think the word is also visually pleasing. Upon first glance, it’s hard to know how to pronounce it. I’m surprised more people don’t have this as a name for their daughters. Perhaps celebrities or ghetto black women.
