  1. why would I climb? what if I do not want to climb? Just because society wants me to climb does not make it the end all be all to my existance! I wish to be my own… not corrupted by and for the masses and leaders.

  2. i climbed up the hill, on the other side was a house, i thought to myself, who on earth could possibly live in this secluded area, upon further inspection, the man inside was quite hideous and so it was quite reasonable for himto be hidden away.

    martyn
  4. climbing up onto a mountain of dreams, trying to succeed, the birds far below, the clouds far above, stuck somewhere in the middle with too much behind you, and an infinity in front of you, why? empty spaces, grey, soft, tired, trying, flying, climbing, failing, falling, dying,

  5. It was such a reach. The mountain seemed so far away, but so needed. The climb wasnt the challenge. The climb wasn’t the obstacle. The feeling of closing that chapter of life was. The top meant success. Failure was an option. It would be just as easy to climb down, to turn around and pretend life would be ok. But that wasn’t what happened that day in June. It was the end.

  7. I climb the mountain to see where I can go. There aren’t many options. In fact, I can only traverse the narrow cliffside or brave the valley. I heard there are wolves that live there. Either way, it’ll be a whole hell of a lot safer than going across that cliff. I’d break my leg up there.

    Matt Kasperski
  8. climb ev’ry mountain. i will never forget that song. my mother always says it’s her favorite movie, and when we did the play, she was positively ecstatic. climbing rocks is always pretty fun. i used to climb through creeks as a child with my cousins. i miss maryland.

  10. i climb to reach higher because i can’t reach anything. when i get there, wherever there is, i look back and think big deal. getting here is better then being here, because once you get here, you want to go there. and it goes on ad infinitim, if that is spelled correctly. you can never get there, you are already here. therefor, there is no where you can be that wasn’t where you were meant to be. it’s easy! bye bye

  11. Higher and higher I went. Pushing myself higher than I’ve ever been before. My hands are raw and chaffed, but I keep going. Suddenly, my foot slips. I hear the rocks tumble to the ground, far below.

    Steve Malsam
  12. I went climbing once it was really fun we had to strap ourselves in with harnesses so we wouldnt fall and die and there were lots of tiny hand and foot holes. I was finding it quite difficult until someone told me the secret which is to push up with your feet rather than pull with your hands and make sure you have good footholes and handholes before you trty and get to the next one.

  15. I used to go to the mountains, I thought that if I were to climb up the hill it would be much more exciting, but then I realised that it was a mountain, not merely a hill. That was a scary thought. So, I went home and watched Sesame Street instead.

  18. I like to climb trees. I’m scared of what they expect me to climb to next year. How much can I succeed? How I can I climb? I don’t know if I can do what they expect? Its a stress.. But I’m going to climb to a place where I’m comfortable.. doing what I want to do. I want to be what I want.. what I want. Not their pick. Mine.

  20. there was one time when i was a kid i had to climb a tree…i was terrified of falling.

    but you know what

    i climbed it anyway.

it was a triumphant day. i looked down onto my friends beneath me as i simultaneously watched trafffic at the intersection at the bottom of my street.

i recall the events of that day well.
it was warm and a tad breezy.
and as i sat up there nervous of falling….

i forgot what i was doingand actually fell.

    i don’t recall the rest.

but check out this sweet scar.

  21. there was one this little girl who liked to play in her room. her father would always get mad at her for keeping her room messy when she played. The little girl didn’t understand what was so wrong with playing. Seeing the little girl get punished for something so innocent was uncool but whatever. It’s no like we can tell parents what to do nowadays. But wouldn’t that be nice… Only in dreams.

  22. When I was younger I used to make forts everywhere since we were located in the middle of nowhere. One time when I was in grade eight we all used to make this one kickass fort and I went out there with my very first boyfriend and we amost kissed for the first time. Instead, my mom came out and ruined it by yelling at me the whole way home.

  25. there’s no point in having only one word. words exist in order to create a language. a language occurs when one person says something and the other comprehends what he or she is saying. oh I get it, climb. bummer, I thought we were writing about oneword. CLIMB! Remember when I thought I had made some amazing discovery because I could see a Kodak sign from the top of the tallest tree in my yard?

    Jennifer Levin
  26. Climb as high as you can. dont look down. everything that you want is up not down. If you look back you will fall. All our stress comes from thinking ahead or behind, never the now. Climb in the moment towared the future that becomes now when you are in the moment.

  27. climbing the wall, the mountain looking for the view to see what’s on the other side. cliffhanging higher and higher, not afraid to look down always looking forward. I climb because it is there, i love to go up into the sky.

    paloma

  29. UP the Flatirons on a summer afternoon with my rope over my shoulder with the wind at my back and the dry red rock under my palms. Colorado blue sky. What any boy from the flats of Jew Jersey would be happiest with.

    moke
  30. To the very top of the tree. That would prove to the boys that she could hang. She leaped onto the next stable branch she could find, bounced from branch to branch, ignoring the blisters bubbling under the surface of her small hands. She did it.

  31. I climb the hill to life and hope that when I reach the other side, top, or whatever is there, that I am not disappointed . . . There’s always that chance, the unknown otherside of the story.

  33. I will climb that mountain one day. It has sat there taunting me for a lifetime now. It has been the symbol of all my hopes and dreams. I have to climb it to make my life worthwhile. I symbolizes my goals.

    Pam
  34. Climb a rock, climb into bed, climb out of a lake, and climb into a book. Climbing around doesn’t get anything done…unless you’re climbing up a mountain…and then only if you reach the top. Climb around the internet–Stumble, if you will–and watch your time fade away.

    blah
  35. i climbed the mountain the other day. i don’t know why i just wrote that because i didn’t climb any mountain. i’ve never climbed any mountain and quite frankly i don’t ever plan to climb any mountain. in fact, if i had to truely correct my first statement i would have to say that i actually fell off the mountain the other day. i had been metaphorically climbing a mountain, as it were, however last sunday i completely lost all grip and fell far off the mountain. now, my choices are to stay where i’m at looking at the mountain i had been climbing and figure out how to survive down here…or i can start from the bottom and begin to climb up it once again. if i do choose to climb the mountain again, will it be worth it? will i fall off again? should i just stay down here? i hate it down here. i am going to have to climb.

    Taren Howes
  36. It is an uphill climb to try and better oneself and as I get older that climb is more difficult but I have more stamina. Bravo for climb.

    Laura Anne Hess
  37. And Joshua started up, up, up into the branches of the apple tree, his hands clutching at the rough sandpaper of the bark tightly. He wanted the one at the very tip top of the highest branch, the tower room of Mother Nature’s fortress. There lay the crown jewel, red as blood, the biggest, brightest apple he had ever seen.

    Riley
  38. Climbing is one way to scale a mountain. Another possible way is to use the power of positive thinking and float yourself up the bitch. Don’t take shit from mountains, alright? What’re they gonna do? Avalanche you? Fuck that. Punch every rock on the teeth and break it with your positive-thinking-infused-superfists. That’s how they do it in the streets.

    Dylan W
  39. I want to be able to climb out of this hole. I feel like I can’t get out. It seems like everyone else is pushing me further down the ladder and all I want to is to get up. I want to be at the top. I want to feel whole; accomplished.

    Elisha Cole
  40. I walked for a long time. I got fed up eventually, not getting anywhere, so I turned and climbed and look where it got me.
