The field was brown and dry. All of the plants had dried up and died during the long, baking summer. Now, as Clover walked through the grasses, she could hear them crunching beneath her feet.
green four leaf weeds only weeds children looking giddy with anticipation weeds just weeds hidden in the grass like a snake an empy hope guilt and shame really like shooting dice or playing black jack at the casino…anticipation and hope .
there was a four leaf clover. I picked it up. i wished for life and happiness. i wished for good luck. that everything i wanted would work out in some way. not always exactly true but that it would all come together in the end.

childhood memories like faded polaroids. they hang from windowsills with silk twine, dusted and stagnant.
those warm, sepia evenings in midsummer were never as potent back then. and i have spent years wandering in circles, searching for those feelings again.
there was a time for magic, once. but time can, at certain moments, stretch infinitely onward and seamlessly slip away.
There was a minute where I thought I could hold on — I wouldn’t die, and I wouldn’t watch them die.
And then I knew, because my consciousness wasn’t actually where I thought I was, but rather subtracted from where I actually was.
I was away, in a world where nothing was what I thought it was. And then I was told that this was all a top secret project, covered up and hidden under the cover of a blackout blank.
One day i was lying in the grass searching for a 4 leaf clover…. i couldn’t find one so i made one using saliva as an adhesive and brought it inside and gave it to my mother.

Clovers are pretty common plants around the United States. They typically have 3 leaves but it is considered good luck if you find one a rare one with 4 leaves. It is also a symbol that is used for the Irish!
Chelsea
A flower, four leaf clover, green, leperchan, Irish, pot of gold, rainbow, lucky, lucky charms, st. patricks day, Ireland, St. patrick of ireland, pinching, holiday, plant, leaf
David
is a good luck charm that children dream of finding and keeping to bring luck, yet only a simple plant, it is a symbol of joy
Claire Kuda
it’s a leaf. it is the word over with cl in front of it. it kind of looks like lover. in 1337 speak, it could be seen as dover. can you use it in shampoo’s? I think Lucky Charms has them.
John Williams
Pretty pretty clover~ bellowing in the wisp. Asking where its pot of gold is. Wait, leprechons love their gold, so why is a clover asking for a pot of gold? It’s because this clover is a greedy s.o.b.
Andrea Diaz
Four. I have never found one with four leaves, even though I spent countless hours searching. Through sports practices when I was 10, through time in my back yard. I was always searching and never finding.
Simon
One summer my friend Kathy and I found a large number of four-leaf clovers in my backyard. Not one, or a few, but about fifty of them. We felt so lucky!
I’ve never found a four-leafed clover. Sometimes I wonder if I found one, would it change my life? At this point in life, I need Felix Felicius a lot more than just a four-leafed clover. What good does a plant do, anyways?
clovers normally have three leaves, well they don’t normally, but when they do, it’s all lucky. it’s an irish symbol and its widely found around the time of st. patricks day. and its green, full of chlorophyll. duuh, it’s a plant. and clovers have a history behind them, why they are symbols of ireland bt i forgot.
Jade
Casey went into her backyard where she felt most comfortable and safe and saw a clover. She picked it up and looked at it and then attached it to a necklace. It was beautiful. She wore the necklace until the clover died, then she made a fake clover necklace.
Logan
There is a field, and it’s covered in them. A great big green mass of the stuff. There are bees humming around non-threateningly, they are just there to observe, like me. The air smells sweet and mellow. I bend down, searching for the one with four leaves, though I know my chances are slim for finding it.
Christy Cannon
She walked to the edge of the world – I mean wood – and though of her brother, and stopped in the green blanket of green of mean things and wondered if he had had better luck, if she would have his luck that he’d never had, dead brother, dead brother, and she knelt in the blanket of green blanket green and rest her head on death.
Peyton
Beautiful, youung day, Bright green, and lucky. Lucky charms, await at the end of the rainbow. The horses chew among little kittens as they eat away at the hope and dreams of young children. Happy St.patricks day! God bless us all.

The crisp clover fields cover me like grandma’s old quilt, keeping me warm on a somewhat overcast, cool day. Though everything surrounding is dull and gray, it retains the color which I always wished I could see. It never fails me, it brings me even a pinch of luck, and joy and sorrow at once. Everything.
Noel
Honey and clover is one of my most favorite anime shows – ever. If I’m not mistaken, clover stands for friendship and a four-leaf clover stands for luck.
If you have really good friends, then you’re a very lucky person.
a four leaf clover is something very rare. people often strive to find them for good luck, but why? luck isn’t brought upon us by a leaf growing out of the ground. superstition is pointless and only leads to disappointment. four leaf clovers mean nothing, they’re just part of a stupid old tradition that people will never give up. yet they give us hope that things will get better.
sarah
Clover makes me think of luck but also of spice. Automatically you think “four-leaf clover” but on second thought, I don’t think that at all. I love sticking cloves in oranges at Christmas time….it is actually one of my favorite Christmas memories. It smells so good.
D
luck……wouldn’t it be nice…….but the world isn’t about luck its about fate. Fate is entirely different….yes it is……WHAT?????Of course it is, why would I lie……well maybe fate is kinda about luck….
Linnea
What is a clover? A clover is a symbol of luck through Irish tradition, of course. I mean, it’s part of society in many ways. Usually it is associated with leprechauns, who wear hats with them sometimes.
Camille
Crisp bright green
Leaves clustered
Overtaking the lawn
Vine-like stems
Easy to walk barefoot on
Remembering of childhood flower necklaces
I saw a clover one day and picked it up. the world around me swirled and spiraled in different color s of blue, green, purple, pink, and yellow. I was in aw. Finally the swirling stopped and I was in the middle of the ocean.
Sarah
I find four leaf clovers all the time. They’re not as rare as people think. My best one has six leaves. Try finding them. It’s easy once you get the hang of it. People will think you’re weird though. When people see me looking they always think I’m weird, until I give them a four leaf clover.
Kitty
I’ve never found a four leaf clover on my own and I thought it was a really cool idea until when I was about 10 and my grandma was in the hospital, my aunt brought her a whole pot of four leaf clovers. Apparently you can buy them in stores. I didn’t think they were so special then.
Is that a flower…? I forget, oh well wait it kinda sounds like a clover, like a 4 leaf clover I mean. Like it’s green and everything…I don’t know. And how 4 leaf covers are like good luck and rare, right? I don’t really remember
Zoe
green. brings luck, if it has 4 leaves. a 4 leaf clover gives somebody who needs it, just a little bit of hope. another natural occurance in the world that can’t be explained, which is why we love it so much. something that brings us strength.
Amanda
It was all pure luck that we had come together in the end. Everything happened for a reason, and it still does. I wandered those aisles only to run into him; I lived through every horrible mistake only to have him in the end. And every little obstacle was worth it.
It was everything to me, but at the same time, nothing. He got on one knee, and held a single clover up to my eye level and jokingly asked if I’d marry him. Little did either of us know, that same thing would happen, but this time, with a ring.
Carli
I wish I could find a four leaf clover in every bunch I see. But that’s like saying I want to find an affordable diamond in every jewelry store, or a pearl in every oyster. All these things are sacred, and the chances of finding them are so low that it almost seems wrong to hope. But I’ll never stop hoping to find that special clover, just as I’ll always be trying to find my own star. Not everyone can be the needle in the haystack. But someone has to be.
Veronica
there’s something about a four-leaf clover that’s not so appealing to me. maybe it’s the scot in me coming out, trying to rebel against all the damn irish. but I think luck stems from something bigger, something greater than finding a clover on your walk in the park. life is much more remarkable than an extra leaf.
kmb
sus ojos fueron verdes, y su sonrisa fue amarillo como el sol del verano.
if you believe it can be seen, just a small in a world of big. expansive skies can cover the doorway. why is this minute so long? a clover is hard to find, but truly unique…can’t this be applied to almost anything or anyone in life?
Clovers are special. They are an opposite of society. While we as humans tend to shun those that are different, whenever we find a different (i.e. four leaf) clover, we hold it with such high regard, and when we have that one unique item, we consider ourselves to be lucky, and possibly brag about it to those around us. Why can’t we be that way to those unique people around us. And why can’t we be unique… we all have a bit of “four leaf” in us… so be that clover… be YOU
