You’re hoping you can finish this in time, but your mother tells you not to get your hopes up–she’s too negative. You only ever frown and work harder in response. Good for you. You’ll do great thing.

  12. The collar of my shirt was digging uncomfortably into my neck as I sat in the meeting. I don’t even know what the meeting was about anymore; I couldn’t concentrate because of the damn collar. It didn’t matter how much I tried to adjust it; part of it kept jabbing me in the neck. One of my co-workers had noticed me picking at my neck and given me a strange look, so I felt it prudent to desist.

  16. A simple part of a shirt that could mean so many things. Too low and it is risque; a certain type and it is a sign of one’s devotion. Either way it is only a superficial way of conveying what’s inside.

  18. blue-collar jobs never looked so innocent but white collars cant stand to get their hands dirty thats why they hire hitmen… don’t understand why they don’t like blood but it seems to be a blue-collar kind of substance… (srry dont know where this thought bubble came from, wonder if it makes sense)

  19. You’re choking me,
    Your indifference throws me down,
    Just ease back,
    And come closer.

    I need you,
    Too much,
    Part of me wishes,
    We had never met,
    That we never parted.

    Your presence is a collar,
    My sadness is a leash,
    You never let go,
Yet you’ve been gone as long as I can remember.

  28. His bright blue collar peeked from the inside of his jacket. I wanted so desperately to pull it out to make him look professional. He was after all trying his best to sell his idea and just the thought of one little collar out of place wreaking havoc on those he would be presenting to just made me sick.

How could I move that collar without thowing him off his game? How could I even approach this lovely man when I didn’t even know his name….my God girl mind your business and get back to work it’s his collar and he should have looked in the mirror!

  29. THe collar is the part of the shirt that goes around your neck. It rhymes with color which is the reevcle3ction of light off of an object. You also have a collarbone in the same place where the shirt collar would be. THis is a vulnerable place and so the bone is in a good place to protect the neck. This si useful and though the bone gets broken sometimes.

  38. I always try to get a collar that stays folded, but that can be very difficult sometimes. When you add a tie on top of that, it usually gets all folded and you have to readjust it. Anyways, I find it to be an oddly expressive part of the costume or outfit. It affets air intake and many other things too.

  39. to which i see what slender face above such a thing i know not and no longer wonder how far to wander and now this collar tightens

  40. I first think of a dog. A collar tightly knit against it’s throat. It is not in control. That collar defines it. It says who it is. It says who it belongs to. You can attach a leash to it and tell it where to go. It is trapped. My next thought is that a similar collar is on my own neck. I would rather be hung by it than wear it with pride. I admire my cat. She leaves with a collar, and comes back three days later only to be naked. She has proven her independence. And I wish to be that strong.
