  1. I want to go to there…

    Darcie
  2. I like the couches in hotels that turn into beds. There hard to unfold.

  3. As heavy raindrops poured down onto the roof, we lay on your leather couch, sipping lemon infused green tea and letting it warm our quivering bodies. You smoked a cigarette, the smoke snaking around my head and reminding me of all the other times we’ve lain in this same spot. All we could hear was the light sound of your fingers snapping to different strings on that old wooden lute and my voice singing an old folk song that rang through your entire living room.
You looked like you hadn’t slept in days and haven’t shaved for that long as well. Your stubbly beard scratched against my cheek every time we kissed.
I tapped my feet, clad in purple cashmere socks against the arm of the couch to the rhythm of your playing. Your aquamarine eyes shone in the light of your lava lamp. We hadn’t gotten out much, and our overgrown fingernails were scratching at the door. We wanted to get out, but the weather would never allow it.

  4. Myra poured herself a Jack Daniels and lay the day’s purchases side by side on the couch. She stood back viewing each item like a slideshow: lug nuts; edible panties made with vodka, cranberry juice cocktail and pink grapefruit juice; a gigantic black Gucci bag; a Nordicware Belgian Waffler; a mini-crowbar; and a flared beige skirt on sale at JCPenney for $12.99. She considered the true uses of these objects and laughed at the silly, simple human condition. Then she set her drink down donned the panties and skirt, put on a black shirt, stuffed the rest in the Gucci bag, and headed out to execute her mission.

  5. Laying down, relaxed. Thinking thoughts of the world. To dream, is to believe, to think, is to dream. Whatever we do, we become, and whatever we feel we are. The couch is the place to become true.

He was anxious for what the couch would bring tonight; a scary movie night with the girl he’s liked for over a decade. She’ll sadly never feel the same way, he though, but spending time with her still made his heart flutter.

You know when you meet a friend of a friend and hit it off right away? That happens all the time around here.

In the last week 38,237 CouchSurfers around the world have met in person to experience fun, adventure, and hospitality.

  16. You were sitting on the couch with your legs out. I checked over your shoulder to see if your mom was watching before I leaned in close to give you a small reminder of affection. Just a brush of lips across your cheek, a small smile, a little love. But I can’t call it that, because I’m afraid you’ll begin to believe it, and hell only knows I can’t afford to break you again. The cracks from last time have barely begun to heal.

  17. Couches are so versatile. they can double as beds, or sex machines. Anything and everything can happen on a couch. A murder, A conception, a depression. All the world is a couch, and we are the cushions that makes it take shape.

  19. Couch. What a difference that one letter makes! The old brown and orange couch we used to have, the 1970s in a piece of furniture. The lumpy old bed that folded away inside of it, on its metal frame. So uncomfortable but so convenient for those times that whoever came to visit … unlucky them.

  20. I have this awesome memory of my boyfriend and me; like when we first started dating.. we were laying on the couch one night, in the dark… and he told me how beautiful i looked by the light from the wii. Blue luminence :o)

  23. I’m sitting on the couch writing this. When I think of the couch, I think of the place I’ve been sleeping for the past seven months. I’ve had a problems with my room since falling into this awful depression, so I’ve been spending my nights on the couch… not too sure why.

  24. What the heck can I do with a couch? thought Annie, as she jumped on it. ‘I could boil it in the pot, or eat it, I guess…’ She had absolutely nothing to do. All the bees who wrote her stories were dead, and the videos that told her what to do all the time burned in The Fire. Now she had nothing but this….couch.

  26. The couch is a lovely shade of ruby, with intricate gold detailing that swirls around looking like it in continuous movement. Quietly, we are sitting side by side, stiff and both unwilling to show how we truly feel. My hatred, his love.

    Cathy M.
  27. He was sitting on the couch, drinking his coffee. “I wonder how she will pull this off”, he said to himself. He’d been trying to figure it out for hours. She was such a mystery to him, and how she was going to pull off this scheme was even more mysterious.

  29. I’d lie down on a couch if I had one, but I don’t so I won’t, instead I’m going to go out and boogie the night away.

  30. I sit on the couch and let my mind wander. From thoughts of my babies to the way she smiled at me. We gather and share nd love on the couch. And then we sleep. Yay. :)

  31. I was sitting on the couch. I rolled over. Ew, a cheetoh. I haven’t had cheetos in a long time. I thought about it. Was it the new years party? Ugh, it’s August. This place needs a maid. Luckily, the garbage was nearby and I threw it away. I still had cheeto glitter on my hands. I went to the sink to wash them.

    Kourtney
  32. There they were, sitting on the couch in front of the tv as usual. They never really get up that much, and when they do, its a big deal. It makes me sad to realize that this was what their lives have come to.

  33. Laying on the couch, I feel nothing, see nothing, hear nothing. I am nothing. In this moment on my couch I am nothing. It is wonderful to be nothing sometimes though, no? This couch has provided my escape from being something. Its old, soft, time worn fabric is pleasing to my fingertips as I lay motionless on this couch.

  34. it is a place where fat old people sit and watch their idiot box(t.v). couch may be very comfy but certainly not a place to lie in like some people do…. So i would conclude that couches are made to promote laziness and obesity.

  37. I sat there on the couch, thinking to myself, why am I here? What am I doing? I want to be there. Not here. As I sat there, I contemplated how I could get to where I wanted to be. I seemed to not be able to move from the couch.

  38. why is it still couch? i just saw my friend write this. not that there’s anything wrong with couches, they’re lovely. very comfortable. my mom used to read to me on a couch. i was so used to it i knew exactly where to sit so there was enough space for her butt to fit between me and the arm rest. and that’s it.

  39. I love that when we moved, we decided to throw away a couch that for years now has had bad memories for me. I really wish that we had done that sooner, as I really did hate that couch for a while, but boy am I glad it happened now. I also hope we can find a new one that’s cheap and does everything we want it to do. Its also cool that our love seat is big enough to now serve as a couch.
