Angie started to walk toward me after I had urgingly beckoned for her.
On her face she wore an expression of utter curiousity.
Her long brown curls were splayed over her shoulder so perfectly that i wasn’t sure if the crown of flowers would add to the perfection or destroy it.
When Angie saw what i carried in my hands so carefully her face light up, knowing and anticipating exactly what was to happen.
She knelt down on one knee before me bowing her head. My hands raised, holding the crown.
I prepared myself summoning up a majestic voice. “I crown you. Angela Teckla Mahsing. Princess of Tonquey”

The crown he wore was uncomfortable. It itched and shifted and ever fell over his eyes. They said that the weight of the crown would be more than he could bear, but the irritation of the bloody thing moving around was more than he could bear. He growled and plucked at the thing as his subjects spoke.

The crown sits on his noble brow…
Crowns are interesting because people have always seemed to think that with the crown comes the power to rule. As if, inside the jewels there lay all the knowledge necessary to be a good king.
In actuality, it’s the head under the crown that makes a good king.

The top of my head…why is that the first thing that comes to mind when I see this word? Most people would probably think of royalty or some such. Not me….it’s the top of my head. Perhaps because I have a splitting headache and the top of my head is foremost on my mind at the moment. Nothing terribly exciting or intuitive about this writing :(

Put the crown upon your head and shut your mouth. This crown isn’t about you, you see? It’s about them, it’s always been about them. Without those you look down upon, you’d be the King of Diddly-Squat right about now.

I have never worn a crown, and I don’t want to. It signifies too many things. Responsibility, a weight on your shoulders, anything. Not to mention the physical weight of the crown. It really gets to me, wearing crowns – they’re pretentious as hell, and of no significance anymore because you can buy plastic ones cheap at the one dollar store. Sheesh.

I would wear a crown of roses
up upon my head
and everything around me
would blossom from the dead.
That crown would bring peace
In a world of war and hate
It would bring a saving grace
And lift the this crushing weight.
Instead of wanting misery
this crown would wear a smile
It would save the people from regret
and they’d enjoy it for awhile.
I wish my crown could make the world
a better place to be
this world would be a better thing
with everybody free.
