  3. i hit a deer when i was driving in the fall of last year. it was terrible. it went leaping off the road and into the side of my car. poor thing. i never found its body but it probably did die. it definitely hurt my car. that was unfortunate. i drove a rental.
    sometimes i see deer in our yard. they are so lovely and fragile looking. i always think of lovely and peaceful things when i see deer.

  8. I once saw a deer at the side of the road in the snow. We were driving by and I thought it was dead. But I swear just as we passed it, it lifted its head just a little. We turned a corner and I never really knew if it was real.

  9. I probably looked like an idiot. Her words had come out of no where, like some freak semi on a dark night when you could have sworn you looked both ways seven freaking times. How many times had I looked for this? I didn’t even see it coming.

    “You want to…” I was a deer in the headlights. My lips barely moved as my eyes unfocused, unwilling to recognize the moment I had dreaded for so long.

  10. Deer are fascinating creatures. They are graceful and yet fragile. I’m always afraid I’ll hit one when I’m driving. Their eyes always get to me because they look so innocent and afraid and curious all at the same time.

Or because my uncle likes to make deer jerky, or my dad killed a deer once and then somebody stole the antlers…which was a low blow. Donovan killed a deer…doe, but it wasn’t as much fun as snagging a buck, or so I’m told.

  13. I have heard that when you hit a deer a bunch of ticks will come flying across your windshield and on your car… Gross. What if you had your sunroof open?! All the ticks would come flying in and land on you. EVEN MORE GROSS. I wonder if you get in trouble for hitting a deer and not reporting it…

    She could adrenaline pulsing through her veins, fear too, faster than her blood, it must be. The decision was in front of her now, flight or fight? She could fight, she could run, could she run?, or- or what? What if she did nothing at all?

  23. Deer are often found in the woods. They are shy and if you run into them, they will dash away quickly. There is a movie about deers called Bambi. Bambi’s mother dies when she/he is very young. Deer are brown and have spots sometimes. The males have antlers. They are very fast. There are often deer crossing signs in the woods because people do not want to hit deers as they cross the streets.

  27. A deer is so beautiful:D They are sweet are they always make me think of Bambi. I would never want to kill a deer or eat one, I don’t think they would taste that appetizing anyway. They also make me think of forests and pretty things. I guess a deer makes me think of innocence and beauty. I like to see a deer someday. Don’t get me wrong I have seen one but maybe sometime again. That would be lovely.

  38. the deer ran into the road and froze in the on-coming headlights. ruby stomped on the brakes and ground to a halt just short of its quivering nose. she pounded on the horn in frustration and the raucus blattttt startled the deer into action, bounding away into the dark. ruby slumped against the wheel for a moment, willing her pounding hard to slow down. trembling, she put the vehicle into gear and resumed her drive into destiny.

  39. They are so graceful as they are galloping though the fields. I know that they are such a common animal, but whenever I see one just standing there, I can’t help but stop and look at them. They are beautiful especially when the snow is falling on them in the winter
