  1. She denied me my piece of cake and I was so hurt. I was the next in line but what did she do but look past me to the kid in the red jacket. It made me so mad that I turned the table over denying anyone else in line a piece of cake and ran out of the room. It’s seems I am always being denied what is due me. I sat on the curb and even denied myself the tears that wanted to spill down my dirty face. So I stood up wiped my grimy hands on my even grimier pants and went looking for the next line I could stand in.

  2. Why does she deny me? All I have done is love. I’ve given everything I have. I given up so much just to be with her. I’ve given her everything her heart could desire – a home, a family, security, love. And yet she feels that she has to find something more fulfilling with another person via email…

  3. Denial is a way to cope with the world around us when we don’t want to believe what we are put up against. Or maybe we created it, but we just don’t want to believe it. Maybe we just deny because we don’t realize we don’t want to believe something. Many people I know deny many things and they can’t see it.

As if I could. I know my dad isn’t the greatest, but when someone accuses him of murder, I have to deny that it could ever happen. That is the only way I can deal with it. In reality, it is entirely possible that he did kill someone. He is the kind of person who lives with that kind of passion and rage every day. But even so, I could not help but deny that all of the forensic evidence is wrong. My father is not a killer.
