  1. Wait… Desert? Really? Ok… I’m trying to think… There are so many places to go with that, and I really don’t want to sound emo and complain about how times when my friends deserted me. But you know, it happens from time to time. Then you just learn to grow up and do your own thing and not take it too personally. What else is there to do, right? Oh dear. That line thingy’s getting awfully dark purp

  2. I went to Palm Springs last year in the middle of a Canadian winter – hoping to see and feel the desert. It wasn’t what I thought it would be – no lizards, cacti just sand blowing in the big, huge wind.

  3. The desert was cold. You don’t normally think of deserts as cold. You think of them as a sweltering place with no promise, like rudimentary math with Mr. Herman. But it was cold. Cold and dark, with only the pale kisses of the moon to light the way.

  4. Desert? What’s with all of the sand? And the dry heat. Although I must say I don’t quite mind the heat. It’s rather pleasant. The wind could die off since the sand likes to wisp around and pick up the dry grains.

  5. a place where you feel a lack of something vital, water.
But you do have the sun
its a little too much of one good thing
    and lacks contrast
    without contrast there is nothing
you cant tell happy from sad, good from bad.
    desert lacks contrast

  6. The desert is hot and dry. I have run out of water. My journey has just begun. Oh wait I see a pond up ahead. No. It is just a marjis.

  7. desert a lot like dessert but not as sweet. just dry and crunchy, like an overcooked dessert. maybe if someone spent a day on the desert they would appreciate more. a day alone on a desert should slap some people right into shape

  8. The desert was unlike anything he had ever seen. A vast tundra, like any other desert, but the sand was green, and the horizon was dotted with bits of blue and red and orange… He assumed they were cacti. He shifted his gear and trudged on.

  9. The blade of the sword reflected the sunlight back at Dave. His shades flashed as he dashed over the dune, knocking up the sand behind him. He could hear Gamzee’s hyena like cackling in the distance as the winds continued to wail. Another gust of sand lashed at him as Dave steadied his blade. A juggling pin launched into the air, and landed directly next to the teen’s feet. He had to focus, Dave thought, it could get dangerous before he even knew it.

  10. The jangle of bells cut through the night, he sat upright squinting in the blackness. there was no cover for miles. Just him and the camel he rode in on.

  11. I was left sitting on the edge of the bed with my arms gently, reluctantly falling down by sides, my lower jaw slowly rising to meet my upper one and I swallowed.

“You said you’d never leave me.” I whispered to the shadow walking down the hall.

  12. the desert is hot. A roadrunner lives there. The roadrunner can kill a rattlesnake. It is so fast, it grabs it by the tail and pounds it on the ground until it is dead.

  13. Well, if you feel that way, living in a city is as empty as living in a desert. You walk streets, where you know no-one, empty of feeling.

  14. you wrecked me like a forrest fire that day.
you swept my heart under the rug and

so heres to you, for making the girl cry even harder.
    you said dont sweat it,
but im in a sauna in the summer
you said youre sorry, but necklaces dont cut it
like my glare when i saw you with her, on her.
youre such a liar i cant believe i didnt see it sooner
i fucking hate you, you two faced stoner
i ever met your mom and father
    doesnt matter.
    youre a cheater
    an emotional beater and deciever
    youre a loser,
but i can finally say its over.

  19. Daniel had packed a dessert for his trip to the desert. He brought along a case of water and a bottle of bourbon. He set up a picnic with no one to eat with. He read a Hemingway book. He fell asleep in the sand.

When he woke up, he had a Rip Van Winkle beard and the desert was now a valley, with clear running streams. And when he drank from it, it tasted like mud and sand and the parched sensation of a dead man.

    Belinda Roddie

  24. This actually reminds me of a dream I had when I was little, which concerned the Sahara Desert. My family and I were driving (in California) to the Disney Land in France, which was located on a boat on the Savannah River (which is located in Georgia), and the river was in the Sahara Desert of Africa. Yeah I think I got my geographical locations a little mixed…

  25. We wandered slowly, out of breath, out of water. It’s not like we thought we wouldn’t make it. We knew we’d be fine. We knew that if we didn’t turn up soon, the camp would send out men on horseback to find us. We knew we’d be taken back there, and taken care of. But all that’s easy to forget in the heat, all that and more, all that and everything. We we wandered, slowly, out of breath.

  27. I think of a big huge sandy place with cactuses and those rolly thingies that you see in westerns when two cowboys are about to have some sort of showdown. You know what I mean? It’s like a ball made out of weed and branches. But yes, that’s what I think of when I think of deserts. Oh! And scorpions. And vultures.
