All around her were people dying, buildings falling, and children lying on the ground. She sighed, picked up her rings and moved on. One city down, thousands more to go.

    Did you know that one of the very real concerns of scientists “back in the day” was that if an atomic bomb was detonated, it could ignite Earth’s atmosphere and a chain reaction could wipe out our atmosphere completely? Before the first test bomb was deployed this was a very real theory of theirs and a genuine concern.

  6. An incomplete or incorrect syllabus could be the destruction of the entire semester. If the dates and times don’t match up, all hell breaks loose. Students walk around as if in a daze. Instructors conduct classes on wings and prayers.

  8. I busted a hole in my friends ceiling. This word reminded me of that for some reason possibly because there was fecal matter and bits of ceiling on the floor under the hole.

  14. It was all broken. They were broken. Even the two that decided to stay together were in some ways still as broken as the ones who left. There was destruction everywhere. Every turn and memory leveled into an emotional wasteland.

  22. Destruction is a scary word. The negative connotation reminds me of natural disasters like earth quakes and hurricanes. Almost like Irene. AHH! Irene is coming!

  24. To destroy. Right now that seems like such a horrible thing. Our world is gradually being destroyed, it seems. It helps in a way for me… It keeps me clinging to my faith. I’m clinging to the idea that life will end, and I will go to a perfect world.

  29. The destruction of all that was normal to me happened so quickly. Suddenly, new trees shaped my view from my window, and new grass fixed between my toes. A new person was living in the exact same 11×11 room as me, and a new lifestyle began even though I did not want it: College. Put simply, it is the same thing as high school, minus any type of social, parental, or instructional order. Which to some may seem very endearing and maybe even a little bit exciting, but give it a week and it has the power to corrupt your sense of self.

  30. What the hurricane may do to hundreds or thousands of people. Destruction is imminent with natural disasters. I hope Hurricane Irene won’t cause too much destruction. It is scary and destruction is to be avoided at all times.

  31. as long as she has tried to avoid it my whole life… it turns out that she is her own worst source of destruction. it’s impossible to learn this the easy way. yet, after accepting all of the mistakes she made, she’s finally free.

  36. i wonder how it would look if the earthquake really came. I have never seen real destruction unless you say that th pit at 9/11 is that. I don’t have first hand experience with buildings falling down.

  37. the path that lays before. the one you seldomly turn a second glance at… wisps you into wonderous lively hood. dust flies. yes, ever so beautifully until you…… crash, crash; crash. balloons float on, float; a float… down that path you seldomly take a peek of.

  39. KATAMARI. destruction never felt so good. but I think if I was just tearing through towns without picking things up, I wouldn’t like it as much. Maybe it reveals some deep-seated selfishness of human nature. Or maybe I just don’t like leaving behind clutter.

  40. The conflagration settled down. However, the destruction of the city already took its toll. It would take decades to rebuild. Tomorrow would begin reconstruction.
