I want to take a detour in life sometimes, I just want to go back and take a look on all of the things that I have done. I don’t want to regret, I want to remember & adore all of the memories. No regrets on this detour baby.

the yellow sign that i see when i am driving. it is on the left side of the road. (II) another direction in life. (III) the long way is usually better.

Detours are something we all have to face in life. They slow us down, but we always learn something from them. Whether they are physical detours or emotional detours, we need to find the strength to overcome them.
Hannah
Its just the last feeling that I had before my test today I need to just RELAX whatever that means, I wish it was just as easy as it sounds relax I mean if that word had any meaning at all on the body I would of been able to sit and compose myself.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like the main road.
There were too many people there, and I was shy.
So I took this road. My own personal detour.

She didn’t know where she was going. One second, she was going to the McDonald’s by her house, and the next, she faced an unfamiliar highway with an unfamiliar man screaming an unfamiliar language at her.
It’s not like I can’t explain, she reasoned, surely he’ll understand if I just tell him my mind just–well–blanked.
So she opened her mouth, and found nothing.

Something about it didn’t seem right. The cold, makeshift metal sign stating that this indeed was the correct way to go seemed ominous. I turned down the dirt path and attempted to steer my vehicle through the dense thicket the sign had been pointing towards, veering out of the way of oncoming trees just in time.
I stopped after going about a half a mile and got out of the car, looking around for any sign of life whatsoever. All I could see were the stars, shimmering in the blackened sky.

I took a detour the other day.. It lead me to a world I never knew existed. It was filled with clean water and rolling, grass covered hills. I could see mountains and forests in the distance. I could smell a stream as it babbled away over pebbles.
Jesse
I took the detour because I just couldn’t do it anymore. I was so tired of seeing that cross by the side of the road. There’s never enough construction around here. I need a real detour.
Haley
The car took its own detour, parting ways with the road. Chelsea jerked the steering wheel left as far as it would go, but the old jeep seemed to have a mind of its own. She shreiked as the wheels hit a rock…
emily
we took a detour cause the road was too short
We took another path to get to the port
Then we realized we were only fooling ourselves
And then we stopped and sang
We could be lost
But we will be fine

I never thought i’d have to take a left turn just to get the banquet. I mean, The parking lot was 30 fucking paces straight ahead. detour signs ruin me. Just give the barricade a nudge to left and i’ll park my car behind it. Boom, now you have a road block. I guess i’m insensitive, but i figure they could move the body to side of the road so the crime scene won’t block traffic. Maybe that’s too much to ask?
Brandon Taze
the city of los angeles is one big detour. constantly changing direction. constantly changing our way. detour. strange word. my life is a detour.

I didn’t know where i was going , but then I had to go another way.

detour, you can be made to detour when there are traffic lights or road works that mean the road is closed. there is also a detour when the road floods., or when a mate phones you up half way to your journey for a lift and you have to go left when you should have gone right to get to him

Lincoln the Hedgehog was eating a strawberry when he was pushed by a fast rabbit that was taking a detour through the thicket in order to beat the tortoise.

you could see him trying to get around it. he couldn’t bring himself to admit those personal feelings. he MUST try to think of all ways around it.

off of the road there lies a whole other world, undisturbed by our human chaos, where there exists a natural peace. Animals, plants, nature. No “advanced” apes to trod on the flowers or disturb the bees.
Naomi
a thinkg that you take when there is a road block in the middle of the street and it can be so annoying becuase people are so confused so it really isnt a detour it is more like a long-tour. it can also lead you to another street that in reality just gets me even more confused when i have to take a detour.
addison
I think about the detour that me and my girlfriend took today while trying to get to pikes place from emp… It was awesome
Jacob
detour make you go somewhere else. somewhere you didn’t expect to go. someday i would like to live in europe. i wonder if this is a detour to my goals, my future. to having a family. but as long as i end up there, does it matter how it happens?
Athena
Going back home from there back to here. A step back, a step forward. Life will end, for everyone. Nothing is a detour really. Nothing really ends.
sofie
I thought about going on a detour, but My boyfriend told me It was a bad Idea….I wish I did, I think it would have been a good story for us to tell our future kid or kids. I do regret not going on that detour..I can’t find where it is anymore.

There was a detour in the route she normally took home. That’s all she could say about what happened later on, that the damn detour had really been responsible for everything that happened. She had been so frustrated, so vulnerable after a day of terrible occurences that fell upon her one after another. The yellow sign directing her to go around the traffic was really just the straw that broke the weary camel’s back. Of course, she didn’t say this out loud to anyone. When the trial came she kept it to herself.
Melissa
Let’s take a detour. Don’t let me go. I’m tired of following the same route over and over. Time for a change, time for something new. Don’t go the way they say. Go the way you want. Do you want me with you? What else. Detour. Shortcut. What better way to explain or do than with me.
Lynna
there was a gay detour that we had to take to get to the brothel but we did get there finally and got to see the ladies xcept that we missed the striptease, but thats ok since we paid less as we missed almost half of the show… we had lots of fun

i took a detour off the side of the path i have been traveling. i took a detour in this life i’ve been living- wandered off path and i haven’t found anything of substance. nothing to fill the spaces between every bone in my body. years pass, it seems.

Driving along the road there seems to always be a detour at some point. taking us off course to simply bring us back to our main pathway. sound familiar?

i was lost but i think that i ended up in the right place. it was perfect really, how getting lost got me found. i meant to take lake street, a right on lake street but i made a left and just kept going. it was an adventure, my getting lost. i need to get lost more. i should have taken it more seriously when my older sister said it to me when i bothered her as a child. getting lost, detoured is the best.

something orange that will be defying your preconceived route. often large, broad or demoralizing in stature, this is the holy trinity of fucking your daily routine. i’d liken it’s annoyance to a bug crawling on your computer screen in the dark.

Good things come from detours. Love being one. I remember my first detour. I fell in love on a detour. I still love her. She’s my wife. The gas station clerk the prettiest woman I ever met.

As I drove to school, late as always, I went to turn down the street. It was blockd off. No detour signs, no obvious way to go around the street. Just a man telling me I can’t go anywhere. I flipped him off.
