Ill never know how to feel without you.

a shorter way to get to where you need to go,, coud be followed advice or simply a shortcut around the bend. if you dont want to go over it, you have to go under it… dont think just go and see what you find.
Mae
man not another detour

The detour really screwed our family trip. We were planning an amazing day through the rockies when we came upon this rock slide. We saw three cars under a few tons of boulders that had fallen from the mountain side and the police were removing bodies. so much for our day through the rockies.
Ty Golackson
It was a wrong turn, a detour. The wrongw ay to go, but somehow it felt right. Was this the true was we were meant to go? What was that about? We were just trying to get to my mother’s house. Maybe something was wrong there. Maybe something was preventing me from going there. Why? What did any of this mean? Who knows? It was only a detour afterall.
Cassi Blevins
I had to take a detour from my house to work the other day because the road was blocked due to a 1st of May demonstration. The first thing that came to mind was: “damn socialists”. Then I remembered I used to be one of them.
Nurit
I’m not sure what a detour is. Does it mean that you are on your way back after you’ve gone something? Or does it mean something has broken and needs to be sent back to the factory? Tour does look like it will move somewhere.. de means to get it back into a previous state, so something goes back to the beginning?
Allard
i took a detour from the main street onto the ally and i found the girl of my dreams
tom
i wish i could detour the way that my life is gonna be soon it’s gonna be a mess. if there was a way that i could detour the inevitable chaos and problems that my decisions will cause that would be really great. Unfortunately i can;t. It’s worth it though.
MH
No idea what that word does mean. Something about a tour? Something like “Da Tour”? “Da place to be”? Or even something more simply like “retour” but the other way around?
Sascha
He walked along the near-empty street in the deepening light of the day. He felt lost, empty almost, a child without his mother to look after him. This way or that, he wondered, turning his head either which way down the street. It was only supposed to be a detour.
Taylor Martinez
Around the back. No, the front. No, not the front, you idiot, the side. Now back to the other way. Ugh, god damn it, you’re going the wrong way. Now twist around, take three lefts, a right, a right, a right, three lefts and two more rights, head down the straight there about fifteen miles, turn straight around the follow these directions again until you get to where you’re going.
Jamesryan Somers
Going to a place where it is unexpected. Like how life will take you to places, events, ideas, and people that you didn’t expect or known could experience. Sometimes a detour isn’t a bad thing. Other times is horrible.
Marlo
there is a detour at every major incident in ur life…just take it,,be brave GO!!!!
Helen
finding a new route and discovering new places, by accident

i think about going back to the past and going back to how things used to be and i think about how that detour will take me back to all the things i want to enjoy right now at this time. i want to detour to new jersey.
epiphane
I love detours. THey usually take you to places that you wouldn’t go. You get to see something new, and different, and sometimes beautiful. Some people see them as and inconvenience, but I see them as an adventure.
Samantha
An unexpected journey. The living in hope that where we do will enhance where we end up. I love a detour as it allows me to be where I am not supposed to be and enjoy it.
DommeOne
Off the edge of a cliff, jump out of the way in a detour.
I should have kept to the main road with my mouth instead of going on a detour route on the path of her body.
I like to call destractions, detours to sound less harsh.

Take a roundabout route; go around to reach one’s destination.

While I was driving to the store I had to take a detour because of road construction. It seems that our “tax dollars” are always “at work” at the most inconvenient times. Why aren’t my tax dollars at work where I want them to be?
Mary
I knew what I wanted of course, it just kind of sagged with the days. Sometimes you have to find a different way of getting there, even if your boyfriend keeps backseat driving and your mom complains that there aren’t enough rest stops in fucking Kentucky.
Guupi
Detour reminds me of my grandma and how whenever we would go somewhere in town we would take the “detour/scenic route” which basically meant taking an extra half hour to go up on the red hill where she would drive 20 mph in a 45 mph zone. I miss her. She was amazing.
Hayley
It was quite the ride. When we left the house, I thought it was going to be just your ordinary trip to the supermarket, but what I wasn’t expecting was that sandlot. When our car got stuck, there really wasn’t much that we could do.
Sarah
when i drive sometimes there are detours. sometimes they suck. sometimes they are just inconvenient. But not necessarily bad.
chase
“Looks like we’re gonna have to take a detour. This road is blocked off.”
“But Mandy, that takes effort! Why not just speed through the signs before the police catch us?”
“What are you on, Karlie? That’s stupid. I’m turning left.”
“Seriously Karlie, deep breaths. Do you honestly think we need trouble with the police right now?” Sammi protested, flipping her dark brown hair behind her shoulder.
Isabelle
hate detours, you get lost really easy and sometimes you don’t know where you’re going. you just follow the person in front of you and hope to god they’re going the same place you are. thank god we have gpses now….at least that helps some. I just remember that one time i got lost for like 10 miles and there were just cornfields aroudn me. not even a street or soemthing I could make a U-turn. I had to call someone and mapquestion it
susie
i feel lost and in the wrong direction. double confused, triple the time spent wasted. Where am I going with this? Where am I going period? I will take a new route. A route less traveled.
Kylie
When I was in Italy 2 summer ago I got completely lost and this small detour was the best experience of my entire life. I was alone, in a country where I didn’t know the language. I met the most amazing people and fell in love… with a man that is now my husband.
greatest detour ever.
Melissa
He took a wrong turn somewhere, and being a man, would not ask for directions.
Jennette
We should have been five minutes from her home. It took ten. ‘I took a detour’ she said innocently.
Jennette
A detour is an derailing one has to take. For example, when you hit an unexpected plan, you must take a detour because it was unexpected, you hadnt planned for it, and you obviously have to make up for it. Or when youre driving, a detour is when you laso have to change your plan.
liz
Turning. Don’t know where to go. Just take the next road and hope it leads you where you’re going.
But then, roads weren’t meant for destinations. They were meant for journeys. And a detour can make that journey all the better.
Luke
That was the sign that may a regular trip into one of those trips that you remember forever. “Detour,” take a left, and you’re face-first into a gas station robbery.
Welcomechallenge
its what you take when the path you are on has ended and someone has decided another one for you that you must take. one that is more difficult and takes longer to get you to the same place. its the definition of my life.
Colton
The brain goes on a constant detour from daily events. You think you’re going one way in something, and you aren’t. It’s crazy to think about how one second you’re thinking about a bagel and the next second you’re thinking about that cash flow. Ahhhhh i love traffic. Detours just make my day. Stupid stupid traffic lights.
Kathleen Tillman
Taking detours makes me feel uneasy. Fear of the unknown. Trust in someone else that I’m going to make it to where I am supposed to be. Am I going to be late for work?
Heidi Scott
I think my whole life has been a detour. I had one and plan and then things got in the way. I head around my original path to get to my destination and something else happens to pop up and say HEY, guess what, YOURE NOT GOIN THAT WAY. Try and follow the signs to get where your going, but of course I’m always getting lost, cuz that’s pretty much all detours ever do isn’t it?
Megan
I take a detour from my life each time I think too much. I need to feel more. I want to feel more. I will feel more.
That’s the only way for me to live my life for myself.
