  12. The soap or the phone?
    Dad always used dial soap when he would come in from work. He was a farmer, but he always had clean hands.
    I got a lot more respect for him when I moved to college, being the only one who ever went to a university — the same as me.

    Now I’ve moved away, and I miss him.

It gives me hope for my future that maybe someday I will synch with someone like they do. I am envious of their honesty and total compatability. she was made for him and him for her. I love them both so much. I live in constant fear of disappointing them.

  19. phones are great, but half teh ringers that come with your phones are crap. they are so annoying and they never give you and good ones. why to they always annoy the crap out of you? maybe that because they want you to answer it to end the madness but when you do your all pissed.

  22. Dial, in swedish I think, is translated to: “Revenge.” Imagine a Swede (if that’s the correct nationality; I’m pretty sure), looking at a phone, and one of the buttons says revenge. Would he press it? If he did, what would he expect?

    I think any Swede pressing a dial button, or maybe even “redial,” should be put away for their spiteful nature.

  24. The dial tone goes flat, and I don’t know whether or not I should be happy. On one hand, I had been dreading our conversation and secretly relieved that she had been too, but on the other hand…we really needed to talk. It wasn’t like we could drag this out forever…

    …that is, we “shouldn’t”, but I suppose if we were really desperate…

  27. phone dial. dial soap. The phone dial is an interesting sound with potential. I kind of like it. It’s possible to call anyone. You could be nervous about the call or excited. It may just be a chore.

  37. The phone dial ios an intersting thing. It’s annoying and comforting all at the same time. It’s monotonus and soothing. That simple tone can drive somebody up a wall and soothe their nerves all at the same time. It’s the one thing keeping you away from an important call.

  38. I dialed the telephone. Actually dialed rather than pressing buttons. Put finger into each numbered hole and pulled the dial around until my finger hit the little stop thing. I wonder if the stop thing has a name?
