  1. What an interesting word. Really? Is it? I don’t know. Discover reminds me of the word uncover. I wonder what the difference between the two really is. When I was younger, I would type quite a bit and my word processor would always offer as an alternative to “discover” the word “invent”. Do these really mean the same thing?

  2. It’s hard to think about new discovery. Things have been done so many times and recycled. Yet, when you discover the right girl. It all feels amazing, like ice cream melting in your mouth. You love.

  4. discover reminds me of myself. just trying to figure out who i am and where i belong. it’s about new heights and new places. Discovering who i belong to, what i need to to etc. Discover things… discover you. Discover what’s important and what is priority to you! I love to discover new me’s.

  5. Discovery is the most important thing that we humans can do as a productive society. Just think if we didnt have the iniciative to discover then we would be nothing more then something like our cousins the animals. everything we havetoday and love are creations based off of our discoveries.

  6. Discover. It’s a word filled with promise. Something never ending because there will always be new things to discover. With discover you get images of science, medicine maybe. Or, if you are more fanciful, maybe a sunken treasure fills your mind. For anyone, it is a word with images of something new.

  7. A tiny little sun on the face of a card. Really? Was he in debt over that? A tiny little sun. A Discover card. Sure, a jet ski wasn’t needed, but certainly a coffee pot!

I want to know how rain can fall up. I want to know what it’s like to be in a passive thunderstorm. I want to figure out how to make pi rational, and I want to eat pie until it’s no longer real. I want to turn a mobius strip until it’s all facing the right way.
    I want to discover meaning.
    And out of all of those, that’s the one least likely to happen.

  13. Discoveries are a nice part of life. To discover something new. To discover someone new. To discover something new about yourself.

    But, then discoveries can be disastrous. Finding truths you wish were lies. Finding lies you wish were truths. Discovering your worth was limited to the advent of another’s worth.

    Then again, finding a disastrous discover probably ensures a discovery about ourselves. The discover of optimism is most important.

  21. Discover seems to be such a bland, cliche word now. I know it’s not. It used to be that discovery meant exploration, self-reflection and the like. Now it seems that it’s simply a word, meant to convey a meaning. Which it does, but only if used in specific context. It’s overused in slogans and any quotation that has it won’t make it into my quote jar.

  24. to discover something is amazing, not only is it brand new to you, but its exciting. whether its a bug or a cure or even something simple like a new word or a new type of food…no matter what it is that your discovering there’s always a stream of emotions to follow with it. I have discovered many things in my nineteen years but plenty more discoveries to come.

  26. Discover. Learn. Wonder. I don’t know why the word “discover” and the word “wonder” seem SO connected to me. I think as a child I loved the idea of what new discovery I can find under that rock, the Christmas tree, or around the bend.

It was the purported reason they’d set out in the beginning — sailing around the world, discovering all the canals and bays and trading ports and routes that would lead them back to their home after their arduous journey. Though belief in that ideal started off strong, it began to dwindle. The eventual mutiny was inevitable.

  29. I’m on the way to discover myself. I peel off the layers of conformity set upon me by society and human instinct. Slowing, I feel as if I will finally know who I am and what I stand for, even if the path of enlightenment is dusty and unused.

  39. Living alone, not dating or being in a relationship for a year or two, you discover yourself. You find out who you are, it’s good stuff, everyone should do it for themselves, it’s very liberating.

  40. Mankind was not born for this. We were not meant to laze away our lives in two-story houses, with a dog and a spouse and a 9-to-5 job. We delude ourselves into thinking that this false ideal born from society is all there is.
    We grow old and we are too busy mourning the ephemerality of life to appreciate the beauty of it. We put on a different mask every morning, but repeat the same actions, day in and day out.
    Yet in the end, we all stare up at the stars at night, our souls aching for that final frontier, seeking the only true magic in this world… discovery.
    There is so much more to life than this.
