What an interesting word. Really? Is it? I don’t know. Discover reminds me of the word uncover. I wonder what the difference between the two really is. When I was younger, I would type quite a bit and my word processor would always offer as an alternative to “discover” the word “invent”. Do these really mean the same thing?
It’s hard to think about new discovery. Things have been done so many times and recycled. Yet, when you discover the right girl. It all feels amazing, like ice cream melting in your mouth. You love.
Discover is one of those things that makes the world – and life – go round. Whether a child discovers how to walk or if a doctor discovers the cure to cancer.

discover reminds me of myself. just trying to figure out who i am and where i belong. it’s about new heights and new places. Discovering who i belong to, what i need to to etc. Discover things… discover you. Discover what’s important and what is priority to you! I love to discover new me’s.

Discovery is the most important thing that we humans can do as a productive society. Just think if we didnt have the iniciative to discover then we would be nothing more then something like our cousins the animals. everything we havetoday and love are creations based off of our discoveries.
Michael Berry
Discover. It’s a word filled with promise. Something never ending because there will always be new things to discover. With discover you get images of science, medicine maybe. Or, if you are more fanciful, maybe a sunken treasure fills your mind. For anyone, it is a word with images of something new.

A tiny little sun on the face of a card. Really? Was he in debt over that? A tiny little sun. A Discover card. Sure, a jet ski wasn’t needed, but certainly a coffee pot!
I want to do great things. I want to find things that no one has found yet. I want to know the speed of dark. I want to find out what water thinks when it’s freezing. I want to know how rain can fall up. I want to know what it’s like to be in a passive thunderstorm. I want to figure out how to make pi rational, and I want to eat pie until it’s no longer real. I want to turn a mobius strip until it’s all facing the right way.
I want to discover meaning.
And out of all of those, that’s the one least likely to happen.
She discovered something. Something great. The last thing anyone thought she ever would. Confidence. It took a life time to achieve, but she finally did it. With her last breath she whispered, “I am.”

From the moment we are born, our sparkling eyes curiously gaze out into the world; a vestibule of discovery and adventure. Wayward, we spend our days yearning to reveal our purpose in life… and as we breathe our final breath and our weary eyes drift off into nothingness, it is then when we truly understand the most mysterious discovery of all: what it means to be human.
I really am a cold bitch, she thought as she ran her hands across the silver face. It was cold, and she couldn’t help but smile. You discover new things about yourself every day, she mused.
Then she heard the sirens.
Time to go.
She stood up, and looked back, once. It was strange, to see the image of her father, encased in silver, dead.
I guess I loved you, once upon a time, Dad, she thought.
Or maybe that was just a little too much Let’s Pretend.
Discoveries are a nice part of life. To discover something new. To discover someone new. To discover something new about yourself.
But, then discoveries can be disastrous. Finding truths you wish were lies. Finding lies you wish were truths. Discovering your worth was limited to the advent of another’s worth.
Then again, finding a disastrous discover probably ensures a discovery about ourselves. The discover of optimism is most important.

He shifts through the papers on his desk, trying to find the slip of paper that holds the key to the rest of his life. One tiny piece of information. Her phone number.
Hmm discover. When I think discover I immediately think about gold and the california gold rush. That would be amazing to go back in time to those days and see what it would be like. …Discover.. I also think of someone discovering themselves. That’s pretty common right? haha

Christopher Columbus must have been a wonderful man. But to say that he discovered america! Please, he does not deserve that recognition. Lets thank the native americans who taught the white man everything. They are the real heroes.

Thrilling, illuminating, observing, seeing. One who can see finds something new in those things both mundane and familiar. Re-discovering, every day.
sitting on a ship in the ocean with nothing but the blue cold water and the silence of setting on you. Slowly breathing in the fresh crisp air, wondering when you will go home. Mins turn into days and days turn in to months, time seems to be inevitable yet, here we are in this abisk.

Discover seems to be such a bland, cliche word now. I know it’s not. It used to be that discovery meant exploration, self-reflection and the like. Now it seems that it’s simply a word, meant to convey a meaning. Which it does, but only if used in specific context. It’s overused in slogans and any quotation that has it won’t make it into my quote jar.

He discovered that he was a monster. Looking in the mirror, it dawned on him that this was the truth about him. the reason why all had come to pass. The reason for all the reasons given by her to explain why he couldn’t do or say anything that she found redeeming. A monster, this boy is a monster, he repeated to himself for the rest of the day…
she tilted her head back and spread her eyes as open as they could go.
to discover, she breathily replied.
my one wish is to discover something beautiful in the world.

to discover something is amazing, not only is it brand new to you, but its exciting. whether its a bug or a cure or even something simple like a new word or a new type of food…no matter what it is that your discovering there’s always a stream of emotions to follow with it. I have discovered many things in my nineteen years but plenty more discoveries to come.

I discovered that some things arent worth holding on to. People come and go but youl always find happiness. To Discover is to live
Discover. Learn. Wonder. I don’t know why the word “discover” and the word “wonder” seem SO connected to me. I think as a child I loved the idea of what new discovery I can find under that rock, the Christmas tree, or around the bend.
It was the purported reason they’d set out in the beginning — sailing around the world, discovering all the canals and bays and trading ports and routes that would lead them back to their home after their arduous journey. Though belief in that ideal started off strong, it began to dwindle. The eventual mutiny was inevitable.
I love discovering new things. I feel like a child. There is such a wonder. It is like Christmas. Waking up in the morning and discovering what Santa left for me. Life is a wonderment full of new discoveries. Looking at the world through the eyes of a child makes me feel that discovery is simply greatest when you have that childlike wonder.

I’m on the way to discover myself. I peel off the layers of conformity set upon me by society and human instinct. Slowing, I feel as if I will finally know who I am and what I stand for, even if the path of enlightenment is dusty and unused.
discovering an island in the middle of nowhere doesn’t happen to everyone. I don’t think it’s happened for thousands of years.
well, maybe not thousands. but it didn’t happen in the last decade.
people go on planes every day. there’s often some turbulence, a crying baby, an annoying little kid. but never do you crash on some island.
it’s LOST all over again.

Living alone, not dating or being in a relationship for a year or two, you discover yourself. You find out who you are, it’s good stuff, everyone should do it for themselves, it’s very liberating.
Mankind was not born for this. We were not meant to laze away our lives in two-story houses, with a dog and a spouse and a 9-to-5 job. We delude ourselves into thinking that this false ideal born from society is all there is.
We grow old and we are too busy mourning the ephemerality of life to appreciate the beauty of it. We put on a different mask every morning, but repeat the same actions, day in and day out.
Yet in the end, we all stare up at the stars at night, our souls aching for that final frontier, seeking the only true magic in this world… discovery.
There is so much more to life than this.
