  1. As their voices rose, the neighbors turned up the volume on the tv, drowning out the disturbance. I turned up the volume on my ipod, copying our neighbors lead, but it was already maxed out. now i sit, waiting to one of them to storm out.

  8. the argument was earth shattering. literally. it was over whether the cause of earthquakes originated in the friction caused when two tectonic plates rubbed against each other or through molten shifts in the earth’s core. the dispute was resolved only when the participants gave up trying to convince each other of differing viewpoints.

  9. i have to dispute my feelings about everything. i can’t help but think of both sides. i have to dispute why everything happens to understand. meaning is something important to me. it’s frustrating when i can’t do something for a reason or see the reason in something.

    i use to dispute with my boyfriend all the time. he never saw my view point or agreed that everything happens for a reason. he thought he was always right and it didn’t matter. but it did.

  13. It seems that nowadays, all we do is yell and blame. Can we ever settle a dispute in a civilized manner anymore? Just sit down and think calmly, maybe rationally. Then we’ll be able to see how stupid some of these disputes are. And we let them ruin our lives, relationships. How pitiful.

    They always were.

    He sat quietly in his room and just tried to block it out.

    They were always at each other’s throats…

    If it wasn’t this it was that.

    If one said one thing… the other said the opposite.

    He only found refuge in his room, surrounded by his friends.

    These plush creatures would never argue like them…

    Never disregard his well-being like them…

    Never carry on as if all was well like them…

    Why couldn’t they just stop it?

  19. an argument of some description. sometimes it isn’t a big deal, sometimes it is. it just depends on the subject. different people dispute about different things. some disputes are settled by arguments, others by wars and fights. sometimes even votes.

  20. I ran into him in the hallway again today. It was almost painful to see how happy he’d been lately. I couldn’t deny what I felt, but sometimes I found myself disputing against it. My feelings were obviously not mutual when it came to him, and that’s what hurt the most I think.

  25. we remain in a dispute of sorts. he feels we should simply be lovers, i have the feeling we need to be more. it’s the accepting of a man into your self, your heart, your life… letting them IN that makes the difference between us. he sees it as fucking, i call it making love.

    one of us will win the stand-off… and one will walk away, either in tears or relief.

  31. is what she said when there was a dispute. its something that you really cant argue about because most of the time both people are wrong. its incredible really how wrong two people can be a the same time and still think eachother are so stupid. its really an eye opening fact about humanity. disputes can happen over almost anything really sports, relationships, everything. more often than necessary
