  4. I play on the dock at the lake. When I was a kid all I wanted was a gate in the top deck, so we could jump out into the lake whenever we wanted. Eventually we just climbed through the bars and stood there, with our toes barely fitting on the wood. It was so scary. And we would hold our breaths and count to five and JUMP!

How annoying i thought. he always late. i thought about hiding and scaring him, i decided to hide behind a barrel and jump out. i heard footsteps coming, i knelt behind the barrel, as the steps came closer i jumped up immediately falling over, feeling the hot liquid running down my abdomen, steves face in a twisted smile and the blade dug deep inside me as he twisted.

  8. It was long and wobbly and unkempt. the boards were gnarly with rot and sprung nails. However, at the end, rippling with enticement, was the clearest, bluest water i had ever seen. In seconds, I had flown past all the obstacles and was swimming as if my life depended on it. Possibly it did.

  9. Lapping at the edge, the water grows. Up to the bottom. Invading from below, seen only is the liquid green. The salt sits on top, like me on the dock.

  12. This is where I go to live. To sail; to see the world. It is where I travel to run away from the world. Rather, sail from it. To hide from the world; to keep away from the land that so binds me. To get away from the keeper of all those that I hate.

But O; how torn I am. For while the land contains all I hate, it holds what I love.

From all these things I am sure; the Dock is an escape. But form what?

  13. One summer at the river, I was swimming beside the dock and saw a snake underneath it! I got out of that water like lightening! Everyone starting beating about the dock, but I’m not sure why. By the time someone got in to take care of it, the snake was gone. It was a long time before I swam beside the dock again.

  14. Dock can mean to cut off the end of a dog’s tail. It is done to Dobermans, Jack Russells, Boxers, and several other breeds. It is illegal in most European countries and should be illegal here.

  15. The dock was long and desolate. The woman looked back the way she had come, but saw no reason not to jump. After years on loneliness, the water at the end of the dock looked so inviting, like an old friend at the end of a long journey.

  16. The ship stayed at the dock in the middle of the fog. It stayed even on the sunniest day when the rays pierced through the pealing paint. It sat there as the bottom eroded. It stayed afloat through snow and wind.

  17. I went to the dock the other day. I wasn’t sure I was allowed, since lots of people came towards me with menacing smiles as if they were going to shove me down a pitbull’s throat and choke in its esophagul fluids. Therefore, I turned around and went back to my house and studied for a biology exam.

  18. We have dock at home in our backyard. It reminds me of the Notebook when the sun sets and you can see the lake. Its kind of really pretty, actually. I’ve never been on it myself, even though its in my own backyard. I guess I haven’t really found the time. I’ve seen pictures of it though. Isn’t that something? I haven’t been on the dock in my own backyard…

  19. The first thing that pops into my mind is “sitting on the dock of the bay.” Maybe that’s because that’s where I’d like to be, sitting somewhere where I don’t have any responsibilities, no papers to grade, no sink full of dirty dishes, just a warm breeze ruffling through my hair and water under my toes.

  20. The ship is at the dock. No big deal, huh? A lot of boats go to the dock. Well, this boat was special. Know why? Because it was carrying him. That’s right, him. That’s why the ship was so special.

    Adrianna

  26. Docks are kind of scary. They’re places of coming and going. Of leaving and returning. Selling and buying. People step off of docks and never step back onto land again. Docks are meant to hold things still, but they’re very flimsy, aren’t they? Ripped apart by summer storms.

  31. she sat with her legs swinging methodically over the edge of the dock. her toes curled in thought, mulling over all those philosophical questions that no one seems to have the answers to. the air was tangy and sharp, a smoke puff of storm clouds loomed on the horizon. she tipped her head back and sighed, just feeling the pin-pricks of seawater pierce the soft soles of her feet.

  33. dock is like the harbour, right? Well, it’s been a while since I’ve gone fishing from a dock… maybe I should try that some time soon. A dock can also be like a docking station for a laptop or a digital camera. It’s a nice and easy way to connect things. Ship connect to the other kind of docks.
