The energy to keep going was the one thing I couldn’t solve. It was tiring to have to wake up and face the horrors this scary world has to offer. I guess that’s one thing that hasn’t changed. After all this time I’m still the same old scared little kid huddled in the corner of a room that was far to big for one child.
the earth seems to drain me from the soles of my feet, and daylight comes to me only in slanted squares or over the curve of someone’s cheek. i need to feel my skin cells tingling. i need my belly to burn from the heat.
a limp vessel for the sun
and still it grows.
I’m lying in bed trying to gather energy to face the day, lying in the sun, trying to soak it in, absorbing it from the grass, trying to keep going, keep it focused.
I just didn’t have the energry to deal with the sulks today. It had been a long week. To be honest, it had been a long year. And the sulks always happened on a friday, when he’d realised he wouldn’t be able to drink. tonight though, there was drink and I had no energy to argue.
She lay on the ground, arms and legs out like a starfish. It was surprisingly warm and the ground was a solid support to her weary frame. Then she felt it, a pull. A subtle draw down. A connection.
Chugging electric colors, feeling the tingling lightning course until bodies are fueled and buzzing. Yet, when you put bad oil in a machine, it tends to break faster.
