  3. An event is something that is big and marvelous. Lots of people gather round, and then you have the event.

It could be anything really, it could be dancing fairies, or singing dwarfs, or any assortment of oddities and niceties in any order and of any variety.

    Harry Yarmouth
  4. I went to this “event” recently. I had no idea what kind of event it was going to be. My husband came home and was like, “you know that lady at work? The one I told you about?” and I said, “no.” And he said, “well, she invited us to this… event. I think we should try it.”

I should have caught on to what kind of event it was when he said, ‘try it.’

Turns out my husband and I are considering separating because he wants to get into swinging, and I don’t like to share.

  5. There is an event happening in life that is unstoppable. Death. It cannot be avoided. It is inevitable. Life and death the duality of all things around us. Events not looked forward to.

  6. today there is possibly an event. i don’t even know. should be interesting, i guess?
um, events. i like events. when they happen things get mildly more interesting around here, which is rare in suburbia.

i wish i had a TARDIS. then i would get to have lots of events. things would always be going on and it’d be bloody lovely, now, wouldn’t it? i mean, i know that it’d be neat. dangerous, yes, but at least i could do something interesting and meaningful with my time, y’know?

  7. In the event of an actual emergency, you would have been instructed to find a small gold key hidden in a Mason jar buried in the yard beneath the magnolia tree over by the bird bath, just to the right of the garden gnome statue, so by the time you found it the crisis will have dissipated.

    Brian Slusher
  8. The event took me back to a time and place when and where I loved and was loved. It is this event that has sustained me throughout my life.

    carol saffen
  9. why are there so many “important” events in our life? everything has become an event to people. oh lets have a party because baby said their first word. what ever happened to the small events that you just cherished yourself? does no one keep those to themselves anymore? why cant we enjoy the small things and let them be as spectacular as they are without ruining it by telling others and turning it into an event?

    doug
  10. It wasn’t an event, as such. Maybe if it had been I would have been able to stop it happening but just like life it changed over a series of minor events and I didn’t really see it coming. I wish I hadn’t fallen for you like this. I’m sick with it.

    Hannah
  11. An strange vent happened last night, the weirdest urge to kiss you passionately and tear all of the stupid shit apart came to me, but then i was just laying down, thinking, wishing, rewinding small events.

  13. It wasn’t exactly a big day, but it was enough to gather a small crowd of people out onto the cobblestone streets. The air was filled with laughter and the general happiness expected of a joyous crowd. Balloons were everywhere, carried by the tide of the wind.

    Lulu
  14. you are not the event you planned last week
or – the way a raindrop falls, you are not

nor the tea cups your mother bought you.

  15. It’s always an event, the birth of a child. All that pain, so intense and absorbing whilst in labour, then the release and the sudden ceasing of pain and the joy, the slippery wet fish feeling of the warm new life in your arms, blinking and bewildered, looking at you, imprinting you on her memory

  18. Chasing events is like chasing imaginary storms. You get caught up in it and have fun, for sure, but then you end up looking back and thinking: “What was all that really about?”

Everything is over hyped, and the real things in this world with value are often the little ‘events’ that are much more personal, like visits to good friends and family and the little victories we have during our days.

Realizing that, was quite the event for me as well.

    Jerome
  24. This event was unlike any other event that I went to, as was promised. I stood awkwardly in the center of the room waiting for something to happen to me, but nothing did. Everyone walked around the room excited going from booth to booth. And there I was,in the center, standing like I wasn’t even there. Like there weren’t people moving all around me, things happening and manifesting themselves all over. It was still in my center, and completely uneventful.

    Laura
  25. the event was definitely that. the family was dressed like clowns and the flowers were as fake as her sisters smile. the groomsmen stood like jokers at the altar and the bridesmaids waltzed like belly dancers down the aisle. the bride stood in the back, wondering how her day could be so perfect.

    Sam

    Edna Paulet

If she had to wait there another minute she thought she might scream.

Why did her father have to be HERE?

    Of all places…

Luckily for the ears of those around her, he father stumbled out of the tent at that very moment.

She grabbed him by the hand and pulled him into the car.

    “Wel’ har’ yooo?” He slurred.

    She couldn’t answer him…

    This was the last time…

She dropped him off at the nearest rehab center, sent him in, and sighed…

“I’ll be back next week,” she said to herself.

  30. something you plan, put on the calendar, unless it’s a simple little inconsequential memory of a moment that stays with you, comes back to amaze you that it has such a place in your memory since there are so many “important” things you have long forgotten.

  31. The day I get married will be quite the event. But I don’t want any regular church service. I want to get hitched on the beach somewhere. The surf crashing in the background, and the wind blowing across my face. Only my bride will outshine the beauty of that day.

  32. we all have events in our lives that mark us, make us.

my defining event was when danny boudreau kissed me under the bridal wreath bush, promising me eternal love and giving me a ring made from a dog’s choke chain.

our love lasted until third grade, when he met and left me for a girl from the public school down the street.

i still remember the freckle in his left iris, that i’d watch be slowly covered as he closed his eyes to kiss me.

    quin browne
  33. Event?
A place to be, a place where something happens.
Even when you’re all alone, by yourself, keeping your own peace, I’d say it’s an event.
Even though events consists of people getting together for some reason.
An event is everything there is….

    Julian
  34. The major event of his evening was finding a small piece of bluecardboard stuck to the sole of his right boot. Upon examination, it withheld the number of the girl he had chatted a the club the night before. He had been afraid to have lost that number…
