  1. she stood outside
    hood up
watching her breath in the cold rainy air
    where was he?
    another puff as she sighed
    nothing new
    what did she expect?

  2. Expecting is a normal thing for us human. Everybody expects. What’s sad is when you keep on expecting for something/somebody and it/he/she doesn’t come. Happens to me all the time. Story of my life. Lol.

  3. Time is twisting around me. I can hardly tell where I am now, can barely look back behind me, and when I look forward, my eyes are blinded in the rush. Somehow I’ve seen enough of this reel to pick up a few frames here and there, piece them together into a disjointed, surreal film. From time to time I’ll let my mind wander, my imagination explore, searching out the haze that lies just beyond everything I can remember or can catch a glimpse of before it slips by. What for? So my eyes don’t grow dim and the gift (or curse?) of sight doesn’t atrophy? Then suddenly it won’t matter, I’m wrenched from my feet and spinning with the wind. Just a rider on the storm, plucked and planted, strolling through some weird and wonderful dream.

  4. I wonder what she is expecting from me? The job has been done, and there are no connections to her. The police will not be able to trace a thing. I do wish that she would cease and desist with the daily phone calls, and just move on!

  5. Expecting is okay. It’s a normal human thing. What’s sad about it is when you keep expecting things then it never happens. Gosh. It happens to me a million times. It kinda sicks.

  8. I’m not sure what I am expecting. I just know I cant control the future with you or me. I’m frightened at times but I know in the end I will be free.

  9. Large and round as an egg – a squashy egg with hairthat is – she was in the sun sitting on a bench by the mall when the stranger approached – with flowers no less – for what ? I saw you. so did they – yes but I was in the mood for love – you’re too old – no demands he said – and smiled like the sun

  10. There was no credibility in the pages of our books. Turn all you want, but the next page is always different from the last, and more than likely the next.

  11. i don’t know what i am expecting. expectations are such silly things. no one ever knows how to live up to another’s expectations, and i don’t think i will ever live up to yours. i want to. i want to be the answers to your prayers and above your highest expectations.

    monyx
  12. I expect myself to be prosperous at my new job fast and properly through the ranks, and to have my love life find its place and concentrate on BC as soon as possible.

  17. where are the lights- the ones we can see- through the lens of the camera- the perfect sight bleeds- deeper than anything just seen with eyes- expecting and hoping and empty of lies.

  18. Why is today’s word expecting? Why can’t I just have a different random word instead of having this piece of crap word? It’s crappy. I don’t expect anything good. I don’t like to think about the future too much and that’s what this word is all about. Expecting. Wanting to know what comes next. Waiting for something to happen and being sure it will happen. You know? That’s really what it is and I suck and thinking about the future so this word sucks for me.

  19. the easiest way to ruin a relationship is to expect anything will come out of it.

    so she left.

  21. What’s wrong? Tom asked. Mary had pushed him away from her and walked three steps in the opposite direction, arms crossed. Between sobs, she said, “it’s nice. No; it really is. It’s just not what I was expecting.”

Tom as he got up off the one knee and closed the blue velvet box. “But I had traveled all the way to Borneo to get this fossilized gecko head.” She continued to weep. “But Mary,” Tom continued, “it’s even got a dried Asian Tiger mosquito in its mouth. That’s considered good luck!”

  22. “I’ve been expecting you” said she, with her green eyes and hair that filled everyone with envy. I’m not sure where to go or what to do. She’s expecting to much from someone as weak as me.

  23. I’m expecting a lot of myself and other people. for them to be good to me and for me to live up to what they hope me to be. I can’t keep my expectations so low on the people I don’t know and so high on the ones I love and cherish. It’s not good for my mental health

  24. expecting something to happen, how long should you wait waiting for it? the moments pass as quickly as your eyes blink, so fast you don’t notice them passing until they are gone and if you think hard you know that you can’t remember a second, and your life is that way. who can remember an individual moment from 1995? not me, i can’t remember anything but now.

    Claire K
  25. pregnancy. this word makes me feel tense, like you’re on the edge of your seat waiting for the right moment to do something. I don’t like timed games because the expectancy makes my muscles hurt. When people are “expecting” they’re pregnant, and I don’t like the way pregnant people look.

    Gabby
  26. it can mean so many things. To expect something is big, will it really happen? Will we ever even meet our own expectations of ourselves ? It can also mean the miracle of birth, or the first stage anyway, pregnancy.

    Pristy Benjamin
  27. I’m expecting a new benefactor to come to my house. Tall, blank, pointless. Like a new baby, mother doting, eating sugar from a slate sky and a white wall. He’ll ring the bell, he’ll step in and introduce himself. Carmen, I’m Bren. Like Glen. Like roast beef, german cottages, and tobacco pipes.

    Gisele
  28. She was expecting the man to arrive when he pulled in front of her house. She was expecting him to get out of his car and bring his dark, heavy suitcase with him. She was expecting him to ring the doorbell and straighten his tie.
What she wasn’t expecting, however, was for him to kiss her on the lips.

  29. i’ve been expecting your call since we last saw each other, i miss you like hell but now i realize you are a stupid douche bag and that you don’t deserve me, if you were uglier it’ll be easier to get over you but since you’re pretty and shit it’s hard as fuck. I might have to stab you in the face to end this feeling but yeah i realized i was expecting you to change for me BUT NOT ANYMORE.

  31. I’ve been expecting you. You never said you’d come, but I knew you would. I’m too important to you. So much for that, I’m leaving and never looking back and you’re going to be sorry you ever hurt me. So long and farewell, you’ll miss me when I’m gone.

  32. Expecting things in life can’t be help. Even if you are one of those unfortunate people who never seem to get their expectations realized, decide to stop expecting things, but still get dissapointed, don’t give up! Expectations are a part of life, and they are what keep us going when we don’t have anything else to look forward to.

  33. Pregnancy. So… I kind of slept with my best friend a month ago. Since then things have been sort of weird. I’ve been nauseated every day for maybe a week or so and I have had a huge drop in appetite. I don’t know if that means anything. But I hope it’s not a sign of early pregnancy. I don’t know what I would do….

  34. “I’m expecting a pie. Right now, motherfucker.” This is how my mother speaks to me. Wait, did I say mother? I meant tyrannical overlord. Some people should be skinned at birth and thrown off the nearest cliff by the demon that birthed them.

    Linda
  35. expecting…babies?

  36. There’s this famous saying that you would never be disappointed if you never expected things to happen in the first place. I know that that’s true. Disappointments and expectations are the same, they both hurt. No matter how hard you try to think of not getting your hopes up, it will still happen. It’s inevitable.

  37. He was expecting a call from her.

He waited anxiously, for she would certainly bear good news.
Boy, she really dropped, he thought to himself.

He would wait all night, and after passing out at 3 in the morning, there was still no call.

  38. life is full of expectations, but we never fulfill them. What we expect does not exist until we make it. If one is to expect something then they are simply naive, because they have lost all control of everything in their life. expecting. no one knows what to expect in life, and when I reached this page i didn’t either
