He peaked up over the stares, watching the woman place something on the ground outside her door. She looked his direction- he flattened his ears as much as he could so she wouldn’t see him. A fragrant aroma filled his nose; he licked his lips. What was that?! The woman went back inside, closing her door. Now was his chance. As a stray he was used to catching his prey or trash leftovers, but this! It smelled amazing! He slowly crawled up the stairs, his eyes widened as he saw a small plate with a feast of wet meat on it. He looked around cautiously, was this meant for him? One bite, and all was forgotten. The delicious feast filled his mouth as he rushed to devour every bite.
