  1. My first flight was to America; this is where I live now. If my parents hadn’t brought me on that flight, I would have lead a very, very different life. If I hadn’t gotten on that flight, I may have been married by now. Would I have gone to school and done the work that I do now? Would I have had the same thoughts, feelings, experiences? One thing is for sure, the flight changed my life.

I don’t want to go, whimpered the tiny voice.

  4. i was on 12 flights in 8 weeks and it was exhausting and exciting to know I had been on that many flights. I traveled all over the place, to Italy, Austria, Paris, Spain, places I never thought I would go and so much of it was made possible due to airplanes. Funny story goes with the traveling, two low cost carriers were ryanair and Jet blue.

  11. i went on a flight that changed my life. i never thought that would be the last or did i deep down and that is why i cried so hard. i knew it was coming like a freight train to crash into me and i could do nothing but wait for the pain to come and linger and feel the effects the rest of my life

  14. flight. i would love to fly. a bird. freedom. one wish fulfilled. but what about that whole bird loving a fish business? is that ever possible? or must a fish make itself some wings? and in dreams of flight i always crash. and why is flight wanted so much by humans? is it only that we want what we cannot have? We will never be able to fly naturally, and maybe that is a good thing. Maybe God would like us to stay grounded. Perhaps gravity can help us?

  15. take me to the stars,
    where i can be free

    strip away the skin

    your words,
    so haunting

    on the wings of
    the atlantic,

    frantic

  16. Flying High, the feeling of freedom as wings spread, catching an updraft.
The clear smell of the air, the beauty of the small ants on the surface trundling along through their day, green and blue of earth and sea melding and blending into one.
All over covered with soft fluffiness of clouds as they soften the fall.

  17. i wish i was on a plane right now. i don’t want to be home and planes only take you to a land called far far away. i could use a little piece of far far away. i could use a second of imagining myself bouncing around in the clouds. sometimes i wish i was a bird, just so i could see my wings slicing through the moisture.

  18. I made reservations for my trip to NY. I don’t know anyone there. I am not scared of flight. I’m scared of landing. And being there. By myself. But I had a free ticket and I want to go. My fear keeps me from so many things. I don’t want it to get in the way of this. I’m going.

    lauren
  19. there was a flowing, a fluttering, a blowing of the wind. the take off was easy enough, but the landing was not. the birds follow side by side, encouraging. reaching. not really caring about anything else except what they were looking for. it’s always about the destination, always about what you’re looking for. what you strive for. the sky’s the limit, but the first step is to want to fly. are you ready to take the plunge?

Then I’m fine again until we get close to landing. I have terrible vertigo, too. I had a fantastic time scaring the bejeezies out of myself when I went parachuting in Hawaii.

I remember my ears popping as we were going up and them not popping back the entire night through as I slept on an uncomfortable bed in a dirty, dingy, and cheap hotel.

The entire night, I was living three hours in the future and really confused about where I was, but I was excited knowing that I would be seeing my best-friend, heart-breaker, and soul mate the next morning.
