  1. Forgiveness is a powerful act that can bring healing and change to our lives. It is the decision to let go of anger, resentment, and bitterness towards someone who has wronged us. While it may be difficult to forgive at times, it is essential for our own well-being and growth.

When we hold onto grudges and refuse to forgive, we carry a heavy burden that can weigh us down emotionally and mentally. It can also impact our physical health and relationships with others. However, when we choose to forgive, we release ourselves from this burden and allow ourselves to move forward.

Forgiveness is not about forgetting or excusing the wrong that was done to us. Instead, it is about acknowledging the pain and hurt caused by the other person’s actions, and choosing to let go of the negative feelings associated with it. It is a choice to focus on the present and the future, rather than dwelling in the past.

  4. so many times I’ve verbally, and intentionally, forgiven someone. But there’s this undercurrent of resentment that lingers. I’d love to say that I forgive and forget and move forward with a clean slate, but there’s still some chalk residue on the slate—just enough to be grating. And when something’s subtle like that, it’s almost worse, because the big in-your-face things are at least in your awareness. While those little undertones slowly chip away at your soul.
