  1. When I was a child, my father kept a globe on the corner of his desk. Every day he’d take a moment to glance at the globe and give it a spin, he’d say, “It gives me the feeling that I keep the world spinning every day, giving me inspiration to do what I do.”

    TJ Van Buskirk
  2. Globe. A spinning rock through space. We’re currently on a rock orbited by a smaller rock while we’re all orbiting a flaming ball that is orbiting a much larger black hole. And even with that, we could be orbiting more. Or we could be flying off into the nothingness.

  3. The globe sat in the corner of the attic, dusty and streaming cobwebs. Sarah thought it would be a great addition to the decor in the office of the old home she had just bought. She reached out to brush away the dust and a flash of pure white light blinded her.

    Tib
  4. “Home” is where you’re strangled

    points of refuge,
    vermillion-pointed and pierced
through the heart of every daydream,
    whose spinal chord sometimes hung
    down Africa like an amputated
umbilical chord – one part liberation
    and two parts decaying sustenance
(because let’s be honest: we’re stuck down
    where our roots are strangled,
and we fear too well to know
    of anything else).

  5. You could fill the sky with stories relating all the things you think you know, for the stars are objects in fixed positions all arcoss the globe. And in the distance there the super novas. A firework for the eyes, yet a realization in the mind. When it dies, what else dies with it? The remains of a forgotten race or a fossil record of an evolutionary one? One that thrives to this day, as they would say. Everything is a state of conditionals and time leaps in its own ways.

  6. We thought that the Earth was flat and basically planar to our eyes. Except now we see it is globular. I mean that is what the theory of time is like essentially as well. People saw it as a straight line when in fact it is circular waves.

  7. We are one mo matter where we live in this world. Globe is a continuous circle; it has no place where one can fall off. We eventually end up in the same place that we started.

    Betty
  8. Its the Earth in a smaller form it helps us to know where places are and in school.

    Hope Strubs
  9. I am in love with the globe. It’s great to be alive, part of the universe. I want to visit the other planets and bring the aliens back but they won’t be allowed to enter our planet. Anybody who looks like a giant, talks a funny language, has big fingers and thumbs, smiles too broadly but looks so beautiful would be too alarming but what would you expect if you saw an alien?

    Jeanette
  10. I love the fact that I live on a globe, a big blob floating in a huge galaxy. We are just a speck. It’s amazing how small we are? I wonder what people live on the other planets? Do they have green skin, big eyes, scaly skin, who knows?

    Jeanette
  11. we all imagine
to spin it around in one confident move
    and throw darts on it
    and go wherever it lands

when it lands on the sea, which is the most likely,
it’s time to taste the water,
go swimming, go somewhere to get wet, dipped, and hugged.
your body go lighter, you are in entirely different dimension, we all sound the same underwater, we all breathe limitedly, we all face the same risk of being drowned.

but when it did land somewhere, if you could afford it, go for it.
if you could afford it but prefer somewhere else, book the damn ticket. if you could not afford it nor too scared to do it, pack some jacket and tanks, put on comfortable shoes and go anyway.

because the moment you throw the dart,
you know you are in desperate need to be somewhere else. other than here.

    go.

  12. What is the globe? Is it just a 3D model of earth? Or is the globe what represents earth, and how far it has come and matured. Could it be just a documentation of what earth is now?

  13. There are many different countries around the globe. This is the difference between where you, your family, and I live. It’s up to you to determine completely where you live. You could make the small difference. We are all one, but we all have different lifestyles and personalities. The funny thing is, we all come from the same globe. Let’s unite. We could find the real world. It’s full of disappointments.

  15. I wonder why no one has ever thought of the basic lessons a globe can teach us. I mean, after all, at one point in time everyone thought that the earth was round, but I guess we can’t give all of the credit to a piece of plastic with paint blanketing it’s true surface.

  16. I looked across the room at the globe by the window sill. My mind was blank. I wasn’t paying any attention to what the teacher was saying. I just thought of that globe. It looked just like any other globe you’d find in a classroom, it just glowed a bit more. As I studied it more, I realized the features were a little bit more specific than the ones I saw in other classrooms. The countries were a bit more pronounced. It was almost, magic-like.

  17. The earth everyone within and on it. The international state at which we are all united not a state, not a country, not a continent, but a world as one. The fire and core that burns within. Amazing science behind the globe. Together, we are the world we are the globe. We are Earth. Look deeply and you see that no one is really united its just a word. An act.

    Jaden S.

  19. GLOBES ARE REALLY COOL I MEAN THEY’RE HOW WE SEE THE WORLD IN A MORE REALISTIC TONE I REALLY LIKE GLOBES. GLOBES REPRESENT HOW FAR WE ARE APART WITHOUT LOOKING AT A PIECE OF PAPER AND THAT’S REALLY KEWL BECAUSE IT MAKES US LOOK AT OURSELVES AND WHERE WE ARE.

  24. The glob reminds me of how people back then used to think that the earth was flat, and you could just fall off if you keep going straight. Until Christopher Columbus discovered america and proved everyone wrong. He was sailing trying to find a different way to get somewhere until he discovered the land that we now call America. So now they have both maps and globes.

    Jalah Johnson
  25. Globe…or world….it is beautiful but when you get closer to look at it. It shows a more somber picture. Look deep and you will see devastation and destruction. It is time to open our eyes to the real the world…our globe.

    Stacia Studer
  26. The world, a place of our being. A syphereic substance, showing us it is round. A sign that shows you were here, on your home, where you always have a place. It’s where we signify what we call ourselves- humans.

    Karlee
  27. If I could travel the globe for all of my days to experience the sights, sounds there are to absorb, there will always still be me. No matter where you go, there you are.

    Michael Jagunic
  32. The world. A model/ figure the we can look at that resembles the world. Ican show and explain to my kids about it instead if traveling. Traveling would be fun. I’d love to travel around the world. Hawaii for sure, I’ve been there before and is love to go again. I would go back to Mexico and visit old friends. Then maybe take a long trip with my family to every country. And visit hobbit town.

“When you travel the globe, what shoes do you wear?”
“What kind of question is that? Are you the shoe police, or what?” Here reply was peeved, gritty and she regretted this instant reaction but could not back down now.
“Most people think of hats, but travel is about moving and shoes just seemed an appropriate metaphor.”
“You are not a traveler, are you?”she asked. “When I travel I carry all I need, and having different many types of shoes is a heavy luxury. Traveling is about being in the moment, it is not about wardrobe changes.”

  34. I am in love with every curve of her
The roundness of her shoulder, the scoop of her neck
    She is my world

    Mapping out the earth

    AJ

    Stephanie
  36. There is a restaurant in Coral Gables called The Globe. Or is it called The World. Well, a globe to me means a world map on a ball. That’s what I call a globe. I suppose it could be any spherical shape but it also should include a world map to be called a globe.

  37. The Globe theatre was once the place to go on weekends to watch movies or to see live presentations whether be it gospel or other forms of entertainment. After operating for over forty years its doors were closed last december.

  38. She had standing here for a full minute, or maybe two, she didnt know. She should go, her class would begin in five minute, but her feet was glued to the ground and she couldn’t tear her gaze from the globe inside the glass box. She could feel the dull pain in her heart and if she closed her eyes she knew that the memory would be played over, as clearly as she remember yesterday. She took a deep breath and after a final glance, finally she turned away. The pain lingering in each step that she took. A question was replayed in her mind. But not once it was answered.
    “Where are you?”

  39. Born with this decision to keep track of whatsoever happens around the globe, our hero starts surfing around like a pro on what was left of his glorious wave. If it wasn’t for his safety safety belt he would of drowned by now.

    Stef
  40. Travels await her. She has yet to realize, but as she sits, running her fingertip across the globe in front of her, it has already begun. The voyage of a lifetime. And she smiles in anticipation and amusement.
