  7. globes are made of plastic generally. they’re round, and show the world’s geography. where countries, oceans, rivers, mountains, cities, all kinds of things are. probably the easiest way to look at the world from on the surface. you can spin them around, and see what the world would look like from an astronaut’s point of view.

  11. A globe shows us the world. We can see other countries and seas. The places we can go are endless, as are the possibilities. Teachers use globes to more accurately describe the earth. If dropped, globes can break, revealing two halves of the spherical shell. The world is a sphere. Our world is amazing.

    Jasmine Shoemaker

  23. what a curious word representing the thing on which we stand. I think that a globe is rather a silly thing, really. A big round thing which we paint all over and say “oh, you are here” when that really isn’t at all true. Just goes to show you how fucked up we are.

    Michael DiTommaso
  24. Well, a globe is a smaller representation of our Earth. They’re not very accurate, but I suppose they get the job done. You can kinda tell where everything is, but if you want to get to a specific place, you’ll be screwed. You can’t use them for road maps very well either because you can’t fit them in the driver’s seat either.

    Steffan Bassett
  25. I remember seeing a really cool globe in a store somewhere. It was made from cut glass and all the countries were different colors. I cant imagine how difficult it would be to hand piece that together… but then again, it was probably made in a factory.

  32. The globe – a round sphere, countless people within that sphere of air and water. I have seen so many walk this globe, so many people die on it, that I cannot even count anymore, and I am sick of it. There are too many to count, too many to remember. I do not wish to.

    I wish to forget.

    Rebekah Bailey
  33. All around the globe is a phenomenon known as humanity. You may not be able to see it in the small, small pictures of land on the sphere, but it is there. Humanity is one thing you cannot picture. You can picture people, but what makes them human is unable to be visualized.
