She was standing at the check-out counter as my eyes grazed the glossy pages of the tabloids. I hadn’t been paying attention to the angry women in line behind me, with small children, screaming and crying for that small candy bar, their sneakers pounding the linoleum floor, their eyes glossy with tears like the magazines.
“Sir?” she said, pointing to my full cart and the empty check-out counter before me.

Gloss. Ew. Every single girl I know wears lip gloss, makes their lips look all shiny and so-called pretty. It’s disgusting, really. Because I’m a girl too and do you see me wearing any of that icky stuff?
It’s one of those things that makes me realize that I’m not one of them. I’m different.
Zahab
gloss gloss shiny floss. so much of life is covered in gloss, but thats not such a bad thing. how much laughter and happiness would we lose if all the terrors and horrors of the human psyche werent covered up at least a little with some superficial objectives

A gloss is a brief summary of a word’s meaning, equivalent to the dictionary entry of that word, but only a word or two in length. It is typically used for the meaning of a word in another language, and hence a simple translation.
A gloss can often specifically refer to a note made in the margins or between the lines of a book, in which the meaning of the text in its original language is explained. As such, glosses can vary in thoroughness and complexity, from simple marginal notations of words one reader found difficult or obscure, to entire interlinear translations of the original text and cross references to similar passages.
A collection of glosses is a glossary (though glossary also means simply a collection of specialized terms with their meanings). A collection of medieval legal glosses, made by so called glossators, commenting legal texts, is called an apparatus. The compilation of glosses into glossaries was the beginning of lexicography, and the glossaries so compiled were in fact the first dictionaries.

Isn’t that sticky type of plastic like goo that is use a protective layer on paper? I don’t really have much of an opinion on gloss. It is just there. I guess we need gloss in the world. Oh wait there is also lip gloss. I guess that protects…lips. Any-ho, gloss doesn’t gets its fair due. We need gloss to protect our coveted items like lips, but have you ever heard of a gloss euthaisist.

The glossy surface looked quite daunting. I attempted it a first, then found my face where my feet were. Blood coursed out, an odd sight from the air. I knew they were my last moments, but I was determined to not waste them on my face, but upright.

I’m driving in my car to the party, and I start thinking about how I should put on some lip gloss while I’m driving, before I get there. That way, I won’t have to put it on in front of everyone when I get there- I always feel really tacky and girly when I put lip gloss on in front of people, like it’s an admonition of the fact that I care about what I look like. So I pull my neutrogena pink lip gloss out of it’s designated pocket in my bag and give my lips a coat with one hand while I continue steering with the other.

She had shiny, silky black hair, shimmering with health. I just wanted to touch it, to see if it felt as soft and sensuous as it looked. She tossed her head, flipped that lovely waterfall back over her shoulder and smiled. She looks like a goddess, I thought. I would love to paint her, a full length nude against a background of blue sky, with big white feathery wings spread in flight. She laughed gently at something her companion he told her. My chest felt tight, the way it felt when I watched the sunrise wash our mountain with lemony light, or when I heard the pure ringing tones of thrush echoing through the woods. What I felt was not desire. I had no impulse to possess her, nor even any inclination to approach, even if she had been alone. No, this feeling was more like exultation, as if her beauty had touched my soul somehow and changed it forever.

Gloss, gloss, pretty gloss. It looks good on Katie Moss.

I remember once in astronomy, our teacher, whose name escapes me now like an oiled pig, said not to gloss over the subject. I think it’s funny now that I remember that, and I don’t remember much more than retrograde motion and the bronze nose of some famous astronomer from back in the day.

gloss is cool and i really like it it makes me feel happy inside and sometimes it makes me understand the way windows feel and the way they might like cookies in the oven please don’t tell anyone else what i am saying about gloss because it is hard for me to admit these things in public because of my low self esteem and the way i pretend to have a large ego.

Gloss shining invitingly on the lips of a young girl trying so hard to be grown up. Daddy, I’m not your little girl. I’m all grown up now, and this is how I show it. First a little and then more as i grow older. It’s time for me to be on my own. First..lip gloss.

The word of the day is gloss, The word of my life is nothing similar. I gloss over life, I have glossed over many things, most things and been unconscious to them. I have no time, seemingly so, to glare distinctly into the world, into my world, into my life, into what I mean, what anything means, what the world means, I just gloss over them and it. Like glossy paper.
Gabriel Renfrow
gloss was the name i first saw on the list. gloss, jason. i knew he would be a challenge from what i had heard about him. i stared at the word: gloss. what could i do to pull him out of his shyness? he was beautiful and strange and utterly enigmatic; he was my first student.

gloss is pretty nice. Monitors sometime have too much gloss and gets in the way. For example, I was playing left 4 dead and the stupid gleam off my window often got in the way of a good headshot or too. What about eyes that have glossed over?

I hate that I’ve fallen for you. You’re just some stupid boy I met on the fucking internet, for the love of God. And we didn’t meet just anywhere on the internet, either.
We are both fucked up people in our own ways. We both have so many flaws. We both live in different countries on different continents. And yet, somehow you’ve managed to get me in the place you wanted me to be. How did you do it? How could simple things you say make me feel upset, make me want to cry my eyes out.
I don’t understand. Why do I allow myself to do this to myself? I can’t stop it though. I want to meet you so bad. I want to be with you. I can’t stop myself from having these feelings.
I wish I could tell someone all of that so bad.

fancy flashy lips seduce the lonely man sitting at the next table. she approaches with her coffee in hand and asks if she can sit down. Of course he says yes. Men are so predictable and so easy. This guy is a great target because he’s reading a newspaper but looks bored. the lips can catch him in a nanosecond. she tells him that she’s new in town and doesn’t know anything about nightlife here. she wants to know about restaurants, shopping, and community activities. she works downtown at a religious nonprofit business. there were no other openings that she qualified for. She’s not sure she fits in at the new office but she wanted to move to the new town. she needs a new start after what she’s been through. all she has left are the shiney lips and her remarkable figure. she knows about her best assets and she knows how to use them to her best advantage. Wow! who knew that lip gloss could do so much to help her out of her present circumstances.

Her lip gloss glistened in the sunlight and caught his eye. Her full lips, her full breasts, were all he could think about as he drove home. Maybe he would call her, he thought. Maybe not. But, it wasn’t every day a girl gave him her phone number.

Gloss is something that is usually shiny. It can be like lip gloss which covers the lips and protects them against harsh winds and other dry symptoms. Gloss could also be used to finish a piece of pottery or ummm….porceline. I don’t know what the material is that glosses things like that though.

the shadow lurched along the sidewalk as i half noticed it coming closer and closer with mine.. i didnt realize it when it stopped entangled with my own.. i look up and notice a glisten. a familiar glisten on the lips of a perfect soul. the one that i have given my being to. happiness filled my heart as i reached for the tube of gloss in his hand. carefully i applied it to my lips and he gently kissed mine as our gloss meshed in perfect mixture, just as perfect as we are for each other.
