The gym was deserted. Cobwebs hung on the walls, dust gathering on the fine thread like light suspended in air. He looked around. At one time, this was his home, his path to glory. Now… there was nothing.
I used to go to the gym, but now I prefer to surf or walk or ride my bike. Being outdoors is so much better for me and I feel so much freer. My mind is my own when I’m in the country, beach or forest.

gym is the foundation of the human body. it is the extension of our health and is place of light and joy. since the dawn of mankind we have exercised to keep our bodies in shape. this is what the gym is for.
Bjarke Hjorth
gym sounds like gum, i like to eat gum, so does josh, he eats gum alot, his dad offered to buy him some gum today at the dairy. but the word is gym, gym sounds like the guys name jim, spelt j-i-m, this name is used in edward scissorhands as the jerk boyfriend who i hate ;D

gym is something i need to get to more often. i remember one time in grade school, i got a crap after gym and my face was beet red. my teacher told me it was because i was out of shape and could use to lose a little weight. goes my poor body image started earlier than i thought. 100 days of working out in a row, coming up when i get home.
going to the gym, walking past the gym, going to the bar, sitting in the bar looking into the gym, exercising my arm raising the glass and feeling the reward that comes after the gym without ever having to cross the threshold. keeping fit vicariously.
Gym – fun, funny, but man! why can’t i get myself to go! Even though it makes me feel so good, when I wake up in the morning I already start thinking of excusesss
Gerrida Venter
Gym is really fun. At gym you get to lift lots of weights. At gym you can improve both your cardio and you muscular strength. Personally i like to improve my cardio as i am more of a longer effort person and i like aerobic activities.

Suddenly exhausted, Jensen sat next to the corpse and mused about how out of shape he was. He laughed to himself as he thought maybe he should get a gym membership down at Axios Health. But deep down inside he knew why he was so tired after only dragging her a few yards from the garden. The grey snow was getting him down. From the inside out.
work, tiring sweat stench. endorphins pumping through the strain. stationary bikes in rows. damp air is hard to breath. condensation fogs everything.

A place where I spent most of my childhood. Training to be the best, but never quite achieving it. Feeling like I lost my whimsical fun. Breaking me down until I had to be mended.
Emalee
I’ve always hated going to the gym. Watching sweaty people watching you sweat, trying to get into shape for the New Year- it’s disgusting. My distaste could also be from having been denied the athletic gene my entire life. I was the bane of physical education- that skinny high schooler who could no more run the mile than solve world hunger.
Atsirok
The gym offered a chance of some repetitive, quiet meditation — freeing the mind by exercising the body.

I need to go there. I need to lose weight. I get lost in the day to day struggle of being everywhere and being everything, and it takes the backseat. Honestly, I feel inadequate next to the toned boys and girls with golden skin and perfectly sculpted bodies.

workout. look good. be fit. be concerned with your appearance like the media wants you to. pay money to be in shape, which should come naturally. unnecessary. egotistic. you can be healthy and fit without ever stepping foot in a gym. gymnasium. gym. gym. gym class. awful.

I’m too lazy to go to the gym. I can’t stick to anything. Routines make me feel like I’m trapped. Trapped in life. And there’s only one way out. And I don’t like the thought of that one way.
the gym is a very small place where i like to hang out with my friends. we have lots of fun and get to work out together. no matter how often we go we’re always excited to come back again. it is where we all met and have remained friends since the beginning. i love the gym and look forward to going back many more times.

It’s my utter solitude. My savior. My enemy, and my best friend. I spend a lot of time there because I don’t belong anywhere else. I probably don’t even belong at the gym, but I’d like to improve something in my life, now that I have the time. Still, it’s hard. That’s the point right?

A banner, strings pulled between the rafters decorated the gym as the adolescent bodies packed in. Puberty had made us all inarguably aware of the fact that we were inept. Little pawns in the game of life, and we had no say in what was to come.
steady pace, steady pace, steady pace. I see other girls at the gym, going hardcore, exhausting themselves, trying so hard to be those girls on the covers of the magazines their sweaty fingers flip though. and then there’s me. slower than the rest, but still going. steady pace, steady pace, steady pace.

I go to the gym often. Working out, I see people sweating, grunting, flexing, admiring, and generally acting in a way one would while alone in front of a mirror. Too often I see people working out to ineffectual methods, and I sometimes question their intelligence because they believe that they are actually gaining a benefit.

I hate it. Used to love it but now it’s something I can’t stand. It’s turned into a fashion statement rather than a way of life and it makes it all the more impossible to work out and feel confident about yourself.
