  2. i like to wear headbands while i exercise to keep the hair out of my face. some people don’t know how to wear headbands in a way that looks good. i feel sorry for them. headbands come in all different shapes and sizes. sometimes thick headbands are in and sometimes thin headbands are in.

  3. The eighties are over, my friend. I’m not sure you really understand it, but those times of your life are gone. Kaput. Blammo. You’ll never be young again, your dreams are meaningless, your achievements and trophies and importance and everything have been pushed to the wayside to be ignored by the current generation, if not spat on, and nothing can regain that.

    Just like me.

  4. Headbands are soo tight on my head. Whenever I wear em I get headaches. They cut off my circulation. It’s terrible! This makes me sad because when I go to Sally’s they always have really cute ones that I would like to rock!! =[ sad word.

  5. That headband was the rattiest goddamn thing I had ever laid eyes on, and it stank of too-sweet cherry shampoo. Threads were hanging off of it in great sloppy gobs, and the color had long washed out in years of wear and woe.

When she wasn’t looking, I held it to my cheek, and breathed in.

  8. a headband, wrapped around my forehead, keeping my brain in. thoughts wanting to spill out but are restrained. I want you to look at my headband. I want you to look at my brain. I want you to know what I’m feeling. I want you to come around again.

  9. The headband danced in front of the mans eyes, red and gold and blue, tempting and colorfull, it amused him with its strange pattern of beautiful colors and shades of said colors. It almost made him sad, thinking that he would never have a headband like it, or a chance to take that one, because it would soon be burned by the flames that engulfed the band now, destroying it into the ashes of hell from whence it came.

  16. I remember wearing headbands as a child – they were kind of a big deal in my house since I had sisters and we always fought over who got to wear which ones. I wish that we’d had the kind that my daughter has, the soft elastic kind – I remember that mine always hurt my head behind my ears. I love the ones with the big flowers on them, that people put on little babies.

  19. “Not that stupid headband again,” his girlfriend moaned in annoyance. “Do you realize how ugly that thing is.”

“What’s your point?” he asked her as he looked up from his corn flakes. “It’s from England, I love it.”

“You’ve never even been to England!”

“Neither have you but you still have Harry Potter books from England!!”

  20. I think I’ve lost my headband…you know? I loved that headband….wonder if some of the new kids who still believe in midgets stole it from me…I’d hate if that had happened. Anyway…I think I’ll just buy a new one. A prettier one.

  21. The headband he wore was a thin leather strap that hugged his pale forehead, keeping his wild hair out of his eyes. It was plain and brown, but he liked it nonetheless, pulling it out from a sleeve whenever he needed it.

  23. The girl was wearing ripped jeans, and she had long, scraggly brown hair pulled back with a grungly-looking pink headband. She looked lost, and like she wanted to cry.

  28. The eighties were a big time for headbands. They had cloth headbands. But nowadays, headbands have a different meaning than exercise girls in spandex. Now headbands are symbols of preppiness and wealth. Headbands have feathers, bows, anything that will make them look adorned and expensive. And they are expensive.

  30. She adjusted the silver headband carefully, not wantinig to mess up her hair. It glistened in the sunlight and the faint dusting of sparkles danced gracefully. She straightened out the bow and checked herself in the hallway once more before striding out the door confidently in her matching silver flats, ready to take on the world and anything it might throw at her.

  31. I wear a headband on days when I don’t like my hair or don’t know what to do with it, which incidentally, is most days. I wish I wasn’t so critical of myself in that way. I think the more accepting of myself I could be, the more accepting of other’s I would be too.

  32. As long as I can remember, I have always worn something on my head. Whether its sunglasses, a headband, a pony tail holder, or a hat, I’ve felt the compulsion to put something on my head.

  33. She wore a headband. It was silver. It kept her hair straight and neat. She had a good head on her shoulders, but it was her heart. Her heart was what didn’t know where to go. It strayed so far, and came back in such disarray. Just like her hair on a windy winter day.

  34. One, two, three, come on, no pain, no gain! Her headband was hot pink to match her leg warmers. Her leotard was lime green. Of all of the places to land in my time machine, why did I have to end up in a 1980

  36. There’s just something about her. Something magnetic, lovely, and a style all her own. No one really could wear what she wears, but she takes whatever and makes it her own.

  37. I saw the headband sitting on the coke-stained counter once she had already left. I picked it up and could still feel the warmth from her body.

  38. It’s the thing lately, or so it seems. Taking trashy plastic headbands from Walgreens and buying trendy fabric to glue around it, make it upscale. These trendy fabrics seem to range from toille to Marimekko and seem only to don the heads of girls with beautiful hair that stays in place.

  40. Her headband was bright blue. It matched her uniform, a terry band of cloth to keep her hair out of her face and absorb her sweat as she played her hardest on the soccer field. Shoot, score. She couldn’t play without it.
