  1. The one-hooked man blew past the dwarf, the cyclops, and the frog person, wearing a green skin and warts all over his face. He blew wind into the face of a stranger from his sprinting and spit a bug out of his mouth into the crowd. He even tore a sleeve from the largest man in the world as he ran past his ex-girlfriend and headed straight for the only thing that good save him: circus practice.

  8. From the moment I saw you, I was hooked. Okay, well, maybe not the moment I saw you – because, really, who likes to be one of those cliche ‘love at first sight’ people?

But at one glance, I knew you had everything I could love. And that’s when things got serious for me.

He got up to follow. He was a rock star. He was the American dream. They couldn’t do this to him. He pulled the needle from his arm as he followed them, falling hard to the ground.

  14. I was hooked on the fence. Again. That damn nail that was stuck out from the wood caught me every time, and there I was, suspended like a fish on a line; hooked. I told Jim yesterday that we needed to fix that damn nail. I said “Jim, I keep getting hooked. Go out and take your hammer and fix the fence!” He’d look at me and smile, nodding his head saying, “Yes, Dear.”

It’s not just the experience in the air, but the preparation for the trip, the anticipation of the experience you’re going to have, and even the actual experience at the airport. Hooked! No one is hooked on flying these days, but the long lines, the extra security, just doesn’t phase me anymore.

  28. when you are hooked on something it becomes an addiction. there are so many temptations in life that can get you hooked on them after just one time of doing it. it doesn’t matter what it is because it can be anything as little as candy or anything as big as drugs. no matter what being hooked on something doesn’t mean it’s always going to be bad but 9 times out of 10 it does turn out to be pretty bad.

  29. Noticing the curious look on her face, I could see that something had intrigued her. Her pale blue eyes shone like searchlights, overshadowing the blushed beauty of her cheeks. May had hooked me and I was helpless, like a fish flapping in futility on the end of an expert angler’s line.

I was no longer in control of my own life… I walked anywhere in view of the computer and there it was, calling to me… begging for me to sign on. It was my new God. The controller of my life.
I had to have it. Regardless that I wasn’t doing anything important while I was on it, I just knew that that’s where I needed to be.
