  8. Hurry

That’s what I feel like now. – Do I have enough time for a OneWord post? Internet time is so rushed at the moment. People could walk in at any time and then I’d have to drop everything I’m doing, stop in the middle, and see to them. Otherwise I’d have prying eyes “What are you doing? What are you writing? One word? But that looked like more than one word? So what is it then? Explain it to me? Why did you close the computer? Why did you put it away? You can finish. I don’t mind. But what was it exactly? I don’t understand? Is it about me?”

    It is sometimes.

    Oh…. footsteps!

  11. Hurry, hurry, hurry
Everybody always wants you to hurry for them
So why is it that when I need to get something done,
I am always waiting on someone else?

    Bryan Green
  12. “Come on!” I cried. He stared at me, exhasperated. “Why are you always in such a hurry?” I shot him an angry glare. “We’re going to miss out on all the good seats if you don’t get your ass in gear, Gary!” With a heavy sigh, he pulled on his boots and schleped out the door. I wondered exactly why he had to be so difficult.

  15. This is the season of hurry and worry. Will I get everything done? If I hurry, yes! But it doesn’t work, because you cut corners and the quality suffers and then you worry. Hurry worry.

  16. This makes me nervous, even more so because I can see that time bar edging closer to the end as I’m writing about the word that it makes me feel that I need to do, hurry. I didn’t hurry enough, I think time’s up.

    In a rush.
    No beating by the bush.
    But this belated action
    is a gift.

  19. There are a lot of things to do in so little time. I need to move now or else I’ll be left behind. I must achieve my dream soon before it’s too late. I must start my first single step now so I can reach far. I must not tarry. I must hurry. Before the moment’s gone!

  20. There are a lot of things to do in too a little time. I need to move now, I need to hurry or else I’ll be left behind. I must achieve my dream soon before it’s too late. Before the moment’s gone!

  21. It is only two more days before Christmas and you must hurry if you want to get those precious gifts that you need for yourself and family. So much things to do and no plan as to what is the best way to approach the situation.

  22. and as she ran, a flurry of leaves lifted off the ground and swirled about her ankles, kicked up by her sleek mary janes. they drifted to the ground at their own leisurely pace and on one certain step, a vivid, papery red one slid just under the toe of her shoe and sent her flying to the ground. suddenly the road was gone and her back ached and the sky was just there, right there all blue and clear and filling up her vision which was – she realized – spinning just a little. she groaned as she swung up into a sitting position, groaned again as the abrupt motion caused the world to tilt sharply and a stab of pain in her head. she shucked off her shoes and her modest blue knee-highs, tucked the socks into her pockets and let the shoes dangle from her fingers, and got up, dizzily continuing her mad dash down the road at the same pace as before. and if she ended up with a few blisters on the soles of her feet, well – at least she wouldn’t slip.

  23. Hurry! She thought to herself as she ran down the steps. She hurried from the front door to the street, desperately waving to the cabs passing by. She hurried down the sidewalk, sipping coffee and clutching her books, hoping that she’d make her class on time. And without a coffee stain on her shirt, this time.

  24. I was in a hurry, rushing to get ready for work. Our facebook conversation seemed to be the last thing on my mind at that point. A hurried goodbye would have to suffice, I’d be able to talk to him again later. But in my rush I didn’t notice his short answers. His full stops at the end of his messages. His lack of emoticons. In my hurry I didn’t see the signs. I should have taken the time to have a proper conversation. Say a proper goodbye. Pay proper attention. Because I never got the chance that night. Or ever again.

  26. In such as this I run to my words like a time traveler, rushing to get to the rabbit hole. I speak volumes through my fingers flying across a new lined notebook page, seeking more and more and more in the spines of books lying by and in the wood of my desk as of yet uncarved. I feel a mad rush, a fleeting touch of something temporal and am immediately insane with a fury to hurry hurry and fill it with something, anything, to make myself feel like I’ve left a mark and made sense and made a difference in any aspect of life

  27. Hurry now! The light is fading into a cold cold night. Hurry now! My heart weeps for your sweet sweet touch. Hurry now! Life is not waiting kindly for you and me. Hurry now! I’m all packed up and ready to leave. Hurry now! Hurry now! Death in on your heels. Hurry now… because I won’t be there….

  28. Heaven must be the reward, until then it was all punishment. Why hurry to just stand in the same place, or at least that is what it seemed like. Everything was running down hill on top of me and the heat seems to smother, kicking off the blankets was a start and waking up helped too.

They all have their own queen,
    and although not as strong
    as was once talked about,
they hurry on as if no larger
    beings exist to stop them.
    They scurry, I scurry.

  39. the holiday season brings out the grinch in him. it’s the winter solstice: the longest, darkest day of the year. a new year brings nothing new. sometimes he wonders if anything ever changes. it’s been seven years since adolescence. strange to think. strange to wonder what’s next without trying to make it happen. already life feels stagnant. his sister died when he was twenty, didn’t even get a chance to take him out for his twenty-first. he knows that’s a selfish thought. humans are selfish though and what difference does it make if he follows the status quo or more importantly what difference does it make if he doesn’t. festivus for the rest us, right? a chance to complain, to gripe, to bitch. but who is there to listen when the only family he had and cared about died five years ago. every christmas when all the shops are closed he drives out to the sisters (mountains in oregon) finds a new place to camp, a fresh place with no human footprints he hauls all his gear and feels the weight of the world. he contemplates til sundown then gets drunk and forgets it all. he used to write, he used to draw. he was never any good so he stopped. life is an experience, best to keep it that way. documentation goes to the dogs anyway, eventually, in some way or other.

  40. We ran, and ran, and ran, and ran. How could we not. There was too much to escape with both out pasts chasing us down so we had to get away. Have a new start. It was going to be difficult but maybe, just maybe, we could make it.
