  3. I really hate American Idol.

Well, I don’t know if “hate” is the right word. I just won’t want it.

I guess it really depends on… No, it doesn’t depend on anything. I just won’t watch it. I don’t like it.

It’s interesting that Paula Abdul won’t be coming back for another season.

  4. He was her idol, her hero, and he betrayed her. She thought he would teach her things, show her how to grow up and be a good person. he was her father and she loved him. but in the end all he did was steal from her. he stole the one thing a father should never from his little girl. he was her idol and now he was nothing. and because of him she felt like nothing.

  5. I’ve never really had an idol. Other than characters I read about in books. I was always one to fall in love with the beautiful men of romance novels and my favorite anime, simply because I often felt alone as a child. I wanted those characters to be real, and if I idolized them it was because I wanted someone to be near.

  6. My idol was always a friend in Virginia. He seemed always to do the right thing — and the fashionable, elegant thing. I hope that one day, when I grow up, I can be him.

  7. Idol is a word that is used too much in this culture. It has been bastardized by the media and shows like American Idol. We have very few true idols these days. People like Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy.

    Debra Rosencrance

  13. For so long, too many days and nights, you were my everything.

    My idol.

Now that the world has crashed and burned I find myself seeing everyone differently.

    More you then anyone else.

I find that I can no longer look up to you. As an idol. A mentor. Or a friend.

    It’s gone.

That magic you used to have whenever you were around. Now that I’ve seen the real you, it’s gone.

Now I am my own idol.

  14. The doorbell rings and I am forced to slowly tear myself away from this week’s exciting installment of American Idol. I walk lazily to the door in my boxers and sports bra, hoping it’s not another insurance salesman. I open the door violently and yell, “WHAT DO YOU WANT?!” into the face of the doorbell ringer… who happens to by my 90 year old grandmother.

    Emma Grace
  15. American idol is a great show. Are they really idols though? Or just average people being caught up in the aroma of fame and fortune. The media is what has made society what it is today and has ruined all that it is. The real idols are teachers and doctors.

  16. You are my idol. I don’t know how I can have any idol since it’s so superficial. I guess it’s not that out of the blue to have one person you wish you were like. But at the same time, don’t they always tell you to only want to be yourself? Don’t they always say that you should want to be your own person, and never envy the attributes of others?? But then again, who are “they” anyways? And who really lives by what “they” say?

    Julia
  17. My idol is me! Who I see myself as being in 5 or 10 or 15 years time! If I know who I want to be then I can strive to be like that now. Make plans now to be the person I want to be!

  24. It’s kind of cheap that I got “idol” twice in a row. I’m half tempted to write some sort of treatise on American Idol or Billy Idol, but instead I will use this sixty seconds to bitch that I drew the same card twice from what surely is a diverse deck. If I get it a third time, I’m taking my ball and I’m going home.

  25. she had been in line for 6 hours. She had avoided the thought of the bathroom and skipped two meals. She had broken down twice and almost fallen asleep standing up. But it was totally worth it, because her idol, her hero, was standing on the other side of that velvet rope, AND he was signing autographs.

  34. I adore you.
I can’t describe the pumping feeling of blood rushing to spots in my body besides thinking of the awkward phrase: “I’ve got a boner.” It’s odd. Because, the one girl I’ve been obsessed about, will never know my name, will never see my face, will never adore me as I do her.
    I adore you.
