129 Entries for “interest”

  1. A lack of movement, motivation and skill- why go on and bicker to the world around me? It barely contained my interest; worst than my strained attention span. The tapping and the constant rapture of the fragile nerves in my brain, while thoughts ticked soundlessly away into the dark void in my cranium. Should it bother me? Honestly, SHOULD IT?! I swore aloud, smashing the wine glass against the table’s ledge. Not even cringing or crying out loud at the dull pain. Scowling I proposed that my spluttered hand would need stitches. Yet, that’s another scar to add to my vast collection of forgotten misconceptions.

  2. With a lot of interest, I view the world and interact with it. If I can keep my interest high, I learn more and enjoy more of every experience.

    SarahJane
  3. Do I have an interest? Surely, I do interesting things. but do I have an interest? The hours I spend partying and poisoning my body, we could call that an interest. I am alcohol-soaked, my lungs filled with smoke.

  4. I have had no interest in any of this all week. My life has been topsy turvy and I have barely held on. It’s funny what becomes a priority when the wind blows hard and the worlds shifts under your feet.

  5. Point of interest. You are my point of interest. I love your mind and the way it works. Something breaks, something’s painted. Everything you touch turns to art and every person that shares your air becomes a bright spirit. You breathe in the cool, city air and look away from the sunlight in dissappointment because you believe you’ve messed up. Look me in the eyes. Believe me when I tell you how wonderful you are.

  6. I love him. I am interested in him. I am also interested in homestuck. I am interested in all genders, may it be both or none or one. I am interested in voice acting. I am interesting.

  7. I had no interest in listening to his excuses any longer. It was over, plain and simple. It had probably been headed this way for quite some time, and there was certainly no looking back. I was ready to move on with my life and find someone who would treat me like I deserved.

  8. i was interested in him the first time i saw him. those deep blue eyes and strong build, he was like a model. then i got to know him and thats when it got interesting. he truly is the guy for me.

  9. He never thought about his interest in Alas. No, it just came in, like how a book’s pages fall once it’s dropped. But slow motion, definitely. Because he didn’t wake up one morning and, in one rush, decide that he thought of Alas in more than a friendly way. It happened with a gentle grace, page by page, chapter by chapter, luring him in.

  10. This, I have on you
Makes me wonder of the “what ifs”
    Consuming my imagination
    Joy, is what I feel
Assurance, that it will lead to something great

  11. Waning interest in the feel of your arms, the depth of your smile, mirroring the lax boredom you show. Once it was the epitome of wholeness to be with you. Once it was the sole reason for my heartbeat. But over time, the luster of the novelty wore off, and it was just another curiosity Memory kept on a shelf.

  12. I’m interested in you.

    Lexi
  13. I at first thought that I was really giving up my Tae Kwon Do dream, I was ready to let go, but I realized it was just another beginning, a chance for a redo. I feel alive again, falling back into the rhythm of kicking and punching.

life used to be full of sunshine and lollipops

so that my children will be able to one day sit here
and complain about having a lessening interest in
    sunshine and lollipops.

  17. I wasn’t really interested in you, although I’m just realizing it now. You were just a shadow, an outline. How I never saw that I’ll never know. At the time you seemed so vibrant, although now I see you formed in black and white. I see you formed in shiftless lines. I see you formed in darkness. You told me once you’d like to drive around all day with me, to nowhere in particular. At the time that seemed to me a very romantic notion, but now you’ve been gone a very long while, and the gas prices all say no.

  19. The question on the quiz asked what my three main interests were. Which confused me. It was of course only the first day of class, so getting a quiz right then and there seemed bizarre. But there was the professor, propped up on top of her desk, leaving the chair provided for her abandoned. The sleeves of her blazer were rolled up, exposing her tanned forearms. She seemed to stare off into space.

It was like she was giving us a survey. I didn’t know how to respond.

  20. Beads.

  21. The point of interest was something that didn’t interest me at all, so I spent most of the class looking out of the window at the clear blue sky that was calling to me to lay under it in the middle of grassy field and simply do nothing.

  22. He was interesting… Enough I guess. Everyone said “you should like him?” what the heck does that even mean? I don’t understand, I like everyone. I’m friends w/ everyone. That doesn’t make sense, to just like him? I don’t get it. A guess he’s my new interest, and I guess I “like” him.

  23. His face wasn’t beautiful, not in the symmetrical sense anyway. His nose was a little too long and his eyes too wide set to be traditionally beautiful. She noticed, though, the interesting way the way his lips curled at the corners when he smiled, or how he twitched his nose when he laughed. In happiness, his was an interesting face.

  24. There are so many things that hold my interest. The way he moves, the way he walks and talks. How his hair billows when the breeze catches it just right.
In fact, it’s so interesting to me that I’ve considered it a hobby of mine.

    A study in him.

Every little nuance about him is like a seance and I have to summon it just right.

  27. As I sorted through the boxes, some of the items of interest included; a threadbare, clearly well-loved grey teddy bear, a Reader’s Digest book entitled ‘1001 handy hints for your home’ and a Haynes maintenance manual for a Fiat panda, several pieces of what was once a soda-stream machine, a green kilt with a corresponding leather sporran, a scrap book with umpteen pages of newspaper and magazine clippings about fishing, a chipped, Chinese design plate wrapped in pages of The Sun newspaper from 1987, a leaflet about ‘managing gout’, three felt-tipped pens, all red, all not working, an airless, plastic football, a length of old-looking, silver tinsel, some dated cutlery with dark brown, wooden handles, a bit dusty but still functional I suppose, a child’s bright pink bucket and spade set still with traces of sand from some rainy, cold seaside holiday I expect, a pair of black denim jeans that looked like they were probably the height of fashion some time in the early eighties, an orange-handled Phillips screwdriver and a ‘Quireboys’ LP in a sleeve that shows some long-haired blokes in pin-striped suits trying to look like England’s answer to Guns N Roses.

  28. It was with interest, or a special sort, that I pursued the young woman. She was intriguing and strange with an ethereal grace. Her eyes seemed to shine with the light of the sun, seemed to sparkle. She truly piqued my every interest.

    Annie Wan
  29. he had a certain interest in her. Not because she was pretty, not because her laugh was so funny in itself that she made others want to laugh, but because…

  31. I have lost it. I feel numb and shallow. Spark or no spark, I remain in a dark limbo. Lifeless living. Clouds hang over the valley and they comfort me. I have lost interest in most things. I am no where while I am here.

  32. Admiration, liking, appealing to the mind, to the heart, different for all, and, for some, not at all. Also dealing with money, but I can never get around to that stuff and calculating it. My parents do that for me. I don’t want to grow up into biz.

  33. I was interested to find out that we shared the same interests. What kind of man likes knitting, singing, and baking? I asked him. He just smiled at me, and responded, what kind of woman like riding four-wheelers, going hunting, and watching football?

    Margy
  34. Interest rates are rubbish at the moment. It isn’t worth having any money so I’m trying to pay off the mortgage instead. Is anyone interested in interest rates? Well we all should be one way or the other.

    Annabel
  35. Did they pique your interest. Is your checklist of values compatible with theirs? Do you chart scientifically as long term romantic match. Does that all really matter when your both just looking for a night of sensual company?

  37. my interest in her was hard to conceal. just looking at her typing quickly in her laptop, her long hair flowing down her back like a cascade of raver feathers. now and then she would turn around and smile at me briefly, before burying her nose again in her essay. i lived for those smiles. i was glad that she could not see my eyes while she faced her computer. they would have read things i was not ready to face.

  38. Interests are all I have, but what I yearn for is a passion. Anything really would be fine. But seeing all these people intensely passionate about whatever makes me a bit jealous.

  39. He was always interested in her. Her gorgeous smile, her beautiful lips, her sparkling eyes, everything about her interested him.
But she never even noticed, and he moved on.

  40. It’s not really something you notice. It happens. Just like that. And then you can’t escape it. Creeps in without notice and then you’re stuck in it.
