  2. jelly is the jam of desire, the passion of a perilous vine, the dream of disasters. Welcome, the bread is ready, the toast has been toasted though, if I were a boasting man, I’d say I’d have to have boasted, that with peanut butter, my unborn dying mother, you would be less, more than most, but blest by an impure death.

  3. Jelly is a fine object of food that people love on breads. I personally love it on a sandwich with some peanut butter. I hope one day that my husband will put a jelly & peanut butter sandwich in a picnic basket and take me to an open field with long growing grass to eat and take photos.

  5. Jelly seeped onto my fingertips from the edges of my bread, followed quickly by peanut butter. “Peanut butter, jelly time, peanut butter, jelly time” I thought to myself as I took each bite of my sandwich.

  6. I am torn on this topic. Used to love it, but the jelly with the bits in it really put me off. Also the fact that it’s fat free. Is that weird? I don’t really like low fat things, mainly because they’re low fat… It’s not a conscious decision I make, it’s just how I am. Like, why have low fat mayo when you can just have mayo? Plain, tasty mayo.

  11. Inside the picnic basket were the simplest of treats: day old biscuits, butter, jelly and some tea that brewed in the sun. On the plaid blanket that his grandmother made during WWII, they sat and watched fellow parkgoers and made stories for each one.

  20. Jelly. So many types — raspberry, grape, and even orange. Some people call it jam. I just call it jelly. It is the companion to my peanut butter, and when I make a sandwich, I prefer more jelly than peanut butter. I’m personally a fan of grape, but I know that others feel differently. No matter the type, it’s sweet

  22. I particularly prefer calling jelly, jam. It seems to give it more of a purpose. It was intended to be called jam and therefore, it will be called jam. I don’t honestly like jam that much. It has a strange texture and it gives me the chills. I like strawberry jam, though, if I had to choose.

    Aubree
  23. I am a big fan of blueberry jelly.
I know someone who eats jam from the jar with a spoon.
I used to see jellyfish on the beach but knew to avoid them.

  24. My hands shook like the inside of gelatin, shaking and moving jerkily. I stepped over the twisted tree trunk and slowly climbed the rope ladder. I closed my eyes, groping for the notches in the bark. My mind whirred with images of falling, of dying, of screaming. I pushed them aside and continued up. At the edge, I squared my feet and let go. I flew.

  25. a wonderful gooey not very sweet thing to eat that simply melts in the mouth. sweet and delicious. something that actually describes life because of the tendency of jelly to never melt or break in spite of number of times you shake it and move it.

  26. I have often wondered what the difference between jelly and jam is, until I went to go visit my girlfriend for easter. Her family was obsessed with jam, and they mentioned that the subtle difference is the seeds. If it has seeds, it is jam, if not it is jelly. I am still not convinced.

  27. peanut butter and jelly snadwiches are good to eat but not when theres too much jelly and it soaks to the bread. I heard that if you put extra peanut butter on the sides itll keep the jelly from spilling out and itll stop it form soaking the bread. One time i got stung by a jelly fish. I was gonna pee on it but then I didnt because that was kind of gross. I did pee one time though behind a snack shack

  28. I never thought to find myself in this situation. I glared the jelly down, but it did no good. Tendrils of the stuff escaped the jar and slid toward me over the table, dragging itself after like some possessed gloop. The thought of it touching me was repulsive unto death and so I jumped to my feet and backed away, thinking of what could possibly kill this odd creation. As it reached out its gooey tentacles, my thoughts ran like frightened rabbits and I followed.

  29. Oh wow, that jelly was good. Who would have thought raspberry and mint would go so well together, but they sure did! She took another bite of the honey wheat berry bread slathered with raspberry-mint jelly and marveled at the taste.

“Mark,” She said around her full mouth, “you are a genius.”

Mark smiled and kissed her on the nose.

  30. the jelly fish at the aquarium are fascinating creatures. they undulate in the water and seem to move without any effort. I love to watch them against the blue background that shows up their translucent bodies as they glide in a world all their own, so unlike mine.

    Ruth
  31. I like jelly. it tastes good on toast. Toast with butter and jelly. Yummy, makes my mouth water.

  32. Some unruly part of me wants the world to forget jealousy. Why unruly? Well, I don’t see myself as a jealous person, and I feel as though that keeps me on better terms with people.

    Ivy
  33. My favorite new thing for lunch is pb&j sandwiches. I was somewhat of a pb7j eater as a kid but I’ve rediscovered this amazing lunch time treat. It’s like cake or a cookie, but for lunch. OK so probably not the MOST nutritious but sometimes, when you’re feelin’ down, it hits this spot around noon. The way the fruity tart jelly comingles with that dark earthy peanut flavor (crunchy of course) is pure gastronomical magic.

    Joan
  34. There’s a funny thing about jelly. I’ve been called that since I was born, not spelled the same way, but homonymous. So, I’m Gele. Pleased to meet you.

  35. Jelly fish. Or is it jellyfish. We saw some of those at the aquarium yesterday. I had no idea there were so many kinds, or that they got so big. My friend was amazed, and said that even in her country, there must be many kinds of jellyfish.

  36. Jelly. It’s actually a sad novelty if you think about it. Never do we eat jelly by itself. The fact that there are some things on this world–like jelly–that are forced to be dependent on others, is a bit sad. Sometimes, we’ve all got a bit of jelly inside of us.

  37. Sticky, gooey substance. The enemy of moms. The essence of childhood. PB&J. A familiar friend. Always an option.

  38. I used to tell my grandmother that she had to cover the jell-o when it was in the fridge, otherwise it got hard on top. Yuck! I still believe in the same advice, because I don’t like my jell-o hard on top. My grandmother also lives by that advice, and she makes some good jell-o.
    I just think jelly=jello.
Came off really arrogant here. But hard jello?

  39. I can tell I’ve been on the internet too long since I immediately think of “U JELLY?” instead of the actual food product.

I’m going to go outside for a while.
