  2. I wish people wrote more letters. Letters are magical. I personally love getting mail, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t! Letters are such a romantic concept, like back in the time of Dickens! I think they mean so much more than emails or text messaging.

    Lindsey
  3. I recently received my first letter in a long time. It was a love letter from my boyfriend. I melted into a puddle of goop and I had to be cleaned up by the janitor.

  4. Letters to heaven, letters to my angel. You saved me, and then you weren’t there anymore. SO you found me someone new. Its been a year since you were gone, and I miss you. Each letter I write is dedicated to you. And every single word out of my mouth is what you taught me. I miss you Mrs. Waters. I loved you, and I still do. Thank you for every letter you inspired me to write, and thank you for watching over me while in heaven. Angel I love you. I wish that you could have known that before you were too far gone for me to tell you.

  5. Living in your letters was my favorite song. I was 13, maybe. Everything hurt. Everything hurts when you’re alone. Everything hurts when you feel abandoned, and so lost. Why do you feel everything so deeply? Beneath the surface. I can’t be without that scent.

  6. letters are lost, most people send e-mails, ims, text messages. and yet, no one is ever upset by a letter — it’s always exciting. “i got mail?” many just can’t be bothered to take the time out of their day to write a short note to their friends, family, enemies. it takes too long and we’re too impatient.

  7. I write these letters from my heart, to you.
I write these letters to let you know, I still think about you. I write these letters, though I never send them out – Just so you could see how beautiful you are to me. I write these letters, and I stare at these words. I cry at the truth and I rip them to shreds.

  8. She knelt down and reached under her bed.

As she lifted the box up she blew across the top, sending a flakey mist of dust rolling across the room.

    Then she lifted the lid.

She lifted each letter out of the box carfully and lugubriously, as if yanking each one through time from thence it was written.

The words met her eyes with sore appearance as she realized that they had not changed.

    Nothing had changed.

    He was still gone.
She could not bring him back…
    and nothing could change that.

She began tearing up the letters, sobbing as each one fell in shreds to the floor.

With one final tear she tried to convince herself that doing this could…

    erase the hurt…
    erase the memories…
    erase him…

    but of course it couldn’t…

Weeping, she gathered up the tiny bits of Love dusting the floor and dropped them back into the box.

    “Why?”

The question rang in her head…
    her mind…
    her heart…

She knelt down and pushed the letters as far back as she could beneath her bed.

  16. there are few things that are more satisfying that writing a letter to someone you love. I haven’t ever really done it all that regularly, but I need to start writing one to my girlfriend in Chile… she’ll be there for another 4 1/2 months, so… I need to get on that. Her birthday is the 18th, too, so there’s another time restraint.

But oh how excited I get when a coloured one arrives for me as it can only mean that there are fun times to be had. A party, a wedding, a celebration of some sort, or simply a happy occasion to look forward to. Bring on those coloured letters please!
