The place where I discovered my love for reading, a place where minds grow, the place that can take you anywhere; through imagination. The library is a magical place, a place I discovered at a young age, and its somewhere I won’t ever stop going to.
It'sNora
when i was young, the shelves at the library
were like mountains i was willing to climb,
resting my hand between the pages
and finding my footing
in a sentence or two.
A place to let yourself go. Create or follow the ideas and world someone has laid out for you to be fully consumed by. A place of knowledge, of creation, of wonder. It is real, are you

I love the library. I love books. I used to spend all my time as a kid in the library. Books are great because you can place your self in them. You can be whoever you want and hide from anything. Books gave me an imagination, a personality, and a new life.

Tonight I’m going to party-
Try not to tip over my library
When I’ve got her all wrapped up in my livery.
Immagine. How many words are in a library? How many things could you learn by spending every day there, reading ever aged and torn page. Its like a well of knowledge, waiting for one fortunate soul to discover it.
I sit there, quiet because it’s expected. But no one is reading. Everyone is listening to everyone else being quiet. Because it’s expeted of us. And as we sit, we marvela t how encompassed we are in social rules.
Abigail
What would it be like to own a library? Can you imagine having all of those books at your fingertips, never having to worry about your library card, or overly strict librarians? I could stay as long as I wanted. I could stay for a lifetime.
For a second I didn’t realize that i was on the right page but then the word…..the word…and a great one; the library is one thing this country does right.
This is a magical place. Books surround in there pure artistic essence. You can learn, or relax. I am in my element. Appreciate these words. CSS

Heading into the library, Charles wondered if everyone felt this intimidated by the college atmosphere there. He could hide in the stacks and pretend to work and study. That had to be it, because talking to anyone was out of the question. Head down, don’t make eye contact.
reading, school work, relax and breathe, discover, research, another day in silence

The musty smell of aged paper lingered in the air. The walls on both sides towered twenty feet high, wall-to-wall shelves lined with books. In the middle of the room were several worn couches and a few small coffee tables, piled with books.
Melisssa Marsh
It is fun going to the library. We always discover a few books that appear to be so interesting. It is tempting to pick one to two books and go home, curl up on the couch, and just read. It is like entering an imaginary world. So much fun becoming someone else.
Diane
Universities have great libraries. That is what I’m writing about, after all. Oh college applications, please deliver me to a place where I will not only like the library, but be social and have all of this work pay off, as well.

i just had a big talk the other day about a library. i talked about the 3 floors my library has, and how each one of them are different. the first floor is the best; it has tables and computers, and everyone socializes. there’s also a lounge. the top floor has the quietest area of all. the bottom floor has tech suites for groups to get work done. each are different but awesome.

A favorite place of mine for books, movies, music, and information. Fun, friends, and community. FREE. I love my local library couldn’t live with out it!

I love the library. I go all the time to do my homework. When I was younger I couldn’t spell it library though, I thought it was spelled li-berry or liberary. I do read a lot though, so I guess it is strange that I can’t spell well.
Hanna
it is full of books, and inside of the books, have bits of knowledge. They are put in order by genres and then by authors. I would not mind working in a library. The pay is decent and it is not that hard. Besides, you have all the books you need for when you go on break.
christina
the library is a place where all education can take place. its a place where books and resources come together for everybody’s enjoyment. i dont go to the library enough. most of the bokos abailable in the library are available online. i also go to the bookstore alot. fuck books i hate them i wanna die. why the hell am i doing this thing.
jon bon jovi
$54. I owe them $54. Is it my fault? Is it wasted money? Outrage over a fee I should have avoided for the wonderfully free library.
beccavee
she loved the library. it was the only place she had that was simultaneously solitary and overflowing with the potential for interaction. every daydream she had, steamy or innocent, took place between the stacks. every boy that walked in was literature.

I love to read. I love going to a the library and sniffing the old books. I know that it sounds weird but it is true. It’s such an awesome smell. I can’t get enough of it. you can tell the age of a book by the smell.
I’m going to the library.
I want to go to the library.
It’s been so long since I’ve been to the library.
I love the library.
I get lost in the library.
I discover things in the library.
I love the library.
I want to go to the library.
But I’m too lazy, and it’s the last day of the year.
I’m not going to the library.
In the library you can find many books ranging from different subjects. Some can be fiction, some will be non-fiction. you have to use the dewey decimal system in order to find the books. Our library is an old house, with a weird smell. The librarians have been there since as long as i can remember. Its always quiet.

When I go to the library there are voices that speak to me in only loving tones. They say “You are welcome here…” and “Come, have a great time reading me.” Probably some of the best times of my life will be spent in the library.
A place of learning. A place where there is so much knowledge. Where people can learn and grow. I often wonder how much knowledge has been learned in a library. And how it would be so cool to see that amount of knowledge.
Hannah Dabrowski
A place of silence and peace.
Let go of the cleats that hold you in this world and fly off to another at your own leisure.
That is the power that books hold.
It was quiet when matt walked in. He couldn’t even hear his own footsteps as he passed the front desk. He thought about stopping to ask the young lady there for help in finding the reference material he wanted, but thought better of it.

they are extremely quiet but lack any solitude. i have a difficult time believing that libraries are the best way to aggregate and generate human knowledge. i think libraries would be more useful if everyone was encouraged to speak to each other instead of stay silent. if we could talk in libraries it would be better.
bijhan
silent. plenty of books. librarian. greatest place to be alone.the place to do homework. the place to read. peaceful. i need to go to the library more. mtv silent library.

I was at the library the other day when a chimpanzee walked in. Now, this guy had been in before, and he was always bringing all these bananas and shoes with him, causing a ruckus. So the librarian shakes her head and sighs, and tells him politely to leave. He snaps at her, starts yelling and cursing and asks to see her manager.

The library didn’t stir. DJ Kunis opened the case that contained his equipment. He turned the volume up to eleven and pressed Play.

libraries remind me of old people. they definitely smell like their houses. i would say my grandparents but i dont have any. they kinda just had my parents and went away. its fine i guess. but i kinda wish i had their stories and chocolate chip cookies. or maybe their inheritance. thats mean. maybe if i knew who they are i would care. but i dont. oh well.
I would walk the few blocks to Branch 13 every day of summer vacation. Besides the movie house, it was the only air conditioned refuge from the Baltimore humidity. Hours were idly exhausted with friends on pages that smelled of age and humidity and fingertips of readers now grown and moved on to other departments that were hidden away beyond my wide eyed childhood.

She opens
the door,
takes a step in,
and takes a luscious
breath
filled with jaundiced pages.
Their golden edges
and leather binding,
she is at home.

I’ve been to the library before and I love it. But I really hate the big creepy dark ones that look like they’re straight out of a horror movie. they smell like old people’s houses. i would say my grandparent’s house but i don’t have grandparents. they just had my parents and left. that was it. and i cant really complain. though i do wish that i had some home made cookies and stories from them. that would be cool.

Quite time, place of peace, friends, solace, books, and words. Chairs and ceilings, beatiful sky, storms, place of refuge, work and play.

im trapped among mountains of knowledge. they surround me, screaming their infinite wisdom at me, penetrating me with their words and colors. the library. i live at the library. its tunnels of secrets reach out and touch me. the smell of old wise tales, and their makers seep into my skin, and surrounds me.
