When the postman brought the dog to our door, I could only think of how unlucky we were to get a dog that was the worst behaved in the neighborhood. I moaned and complained about the dog from hell for months, until my husband said to me, “Admit it; you love him.”

winning the lottery. going to the beach. having fun with friends. kissing the love of your life. getting successful in life. graduating college. petting a new born kitten. smiling. watching the northern lights. seeing a shooting star. meeting your inspiration.

Lucky was the name of my prized elephant. I won him at the circus one day in a game of beer pong. I named him lucky because he almost was killed by ninja assassins.

Often times people hear this word form the mouths of the envious. “You’re so lucky!” they shout. It is a rare sign that things are going your way when you are lucky. It is something that should be cherished. It should be reveled in. Enjoy your good luck, and forget your bad luck. Then life won’t seem so bad.
Robert Schaeffer
all around me they’re dropping like flies,
moaning on the couches,
wiping faces slick with cold sweat.
i am untouched,
the lucky one.
or am i?
it’s hard to feel lucky
when i’ll surely be the next
to fall.
waiting
is the worst thing
of all.

Lucky is like that song that Britney Spears wrote. “She’s so lucky, she’s a star, but she cry, cry, cries…” I hate that song. I liked it when I was younger but now it just seems stupid— just like everything else they play on the radio these days. How about Kesha? All of her songs are about drinking and partying. No wonder our nation’s high school graduation rate is so low.
Andrea
luck. i guess i never thought it existed. all i can think to say is that i never really believed in it, because i never really wanted it. all i need is my own streangth. i dont need to get lucky and get out of situations. because going through hard times is what makes me stronger. makes me who i am. which is someone im okay with.
karen
Oh, boy, was I ever lucky to find him. Only I had no idea what I was looking for, as it turned out. I never would have anticipated this. Not in my wildest dreams, and I have some wild dreams. Still, I consider myself lucky to have this person in my life.
I went to the racetrack because I was feeling lucky. I was. I bet on a horse with lousy odds, Blue Friday, and won enough money to make Emmeline fall in love with me all over again.

you are lucky if you have a house, a car, family. but most importantly you are lucky if you have friends because they are the people that choose you unlike your family who has to like you, your friends pick you for you.

Luck and fate. Two things that we never quite understand. How can one make oneself lucky?
IS there fate and are we doomed? They may be one and the same thing. Our fate determines our luck and visa versa. We have no control over either. Who is lucky? Who is doomed? Can we know?
james love
i was lucky enough to keep them happy for at least the 5 mins, buy myself a little time. Time to contemplate my list of regrets chalked up over the past week.

lucky me, I am just not getting the experience I want right now. damn it’s a day with a lot of weather streaming about the edge of the window just beyond the place where nobody knows. I want to find some refuge in the mindsets of the lucky and the prosperous.
When someone is lucky, they get things that no one else does. Oftentimes, those people gain the benefits of something that comes one in a million – like applying for college, or the lottery, or winning that prize on that radio show– while everyone else is left standing out on the curb, cold, and wistful. We act like we can award luck to each other by saying “Good Luck” but we really can’t. Its not that simple. Luck is something people just have

Bright Eyes: Easy/Lucky/Free. Take it Easy (Love Nothing). I’m lucky to be here but not to be happy. I’m lucky to know the people I know, and to have the things that I have. I’m lucky not to have to make any important life decisions yet. I’m lucky that everything always works out.
Aidan
When people are lucky, they get things that they want. They get the things that no one else ever gets. Those people try for things that come one in a million, like lottery tickets, like getting into college, liek winning a prize- and they are the ones who win while a hundred others for whatever reason are out on the curb looking in. We talk about luck as if we can award it to each other

She was lucky it had been a miss; she was lucky that he hadn’t actually shot her, just aimed a bit too high. maybe it had been to scare her, maybe to warn her, but she wasn’t sure. She was lucky the door was unlocked; she was lucky he was too scared to chase after her. She ran and and ran and ran and ran, with nothing more than luck keeping her from stumbling and falling into the ditches on either side of the road.

One day I was sitting in a diner and the phone rang and my mom answered. And it took a while to register what it was. Then it dawned on me that there was a match. I was lucky, and someone else wasn’t.
Sara
I guess I am lucky. Mostly because I was asked to go to disneyland on a trip that I shouldn’t have been able to go on. Because of that trip, my life changed. I met so many new friends, have an amazing boyfriend, and became part of the marching band. I suppose it is a good thing I was part of that, though sometimes I feel like the unluckiest person in the world.
Adina Melissa
lucky bastard, lucky fucker i hate the luck in this world i cant believe how lucky this is i cant believe how lucky the human race is, bad luck bad luck in the human world we are not lucky we are destroying everything, not so lucky. my thoughts and actions are lucky, maybe over my mind because the luck i cant really see or feel, but i know its there
kelsea
So so lucky. She was bitter about how lucky he was. Smitten that she loved him. Angry about his fortune, and how she thought, he didnt appreciate her, and what she gave.
Gopher
I am the luckiest person in the world. How could someone like myself not be? I have a roof over my head, a great family, and friends that would do anything for me. Besides the fact that I have no idea what I am doing with my life I would say I am a pretty lucky gal. Never let the bad days keep you down.
Jennifer Davis
I am completely LUCKY in so many aspects of my life. I even love the word. I really didn’t consider myself LUCKY until about 5 years ago. Then it just came to me- You Are LUCKY! I have a great husband, a close to perfect son, wonderful parents, my grandparents are in their 80’s! I have been lots of wonderful place, I am very healthy. I am very capable & love to learn. All these things & more make me feel completely LUCKY!
Alecia Weston
Who is really lucky? Does luck actually exist? I;d like to think not as I rarely seem to get any, but undeniably, some people really DO seem to have all the luck. Damn them.
Joeytey
is a lie. Nothing good ever comes because of luck alone. If you’re lucky enough to simply stumble upon something, it’s bound to stumble away from you just as quickly. Lucky people’s luck comes as fast as it goes. Nothing in this world comes because of luck; it comes as the result of hard work, sweat and sacrifice. People who believe in luck are fools.
Ashley Dalton
To have some kind of blessing expectingly surprise you in a wonderful way.
Amanda
I was born lucky. I used to win bored games every time I played them with my family as a kid, especially when we played Yahtzee. I was the kind of person who got 3 Yahtzee’s in a row, and everyone hated them! But I think I’ve lost my luck. I didn’t get into Yale, which takes luck. I hope I can get it back.
June
buena suerte. good luck. is there such a thing as luck? or is it all predestined? could that even be?? pennies. lucky pennies. if it isn’t lucky, turn it over folks!! lucky underwear? yea… we all have that pair. its true. sometimes you just feel lucky to be alive. or is it really blessed? thats what i tend to think. and its a whole lot more contented of a way to live.
Jen
His eyes are nothing special. His smile is normal. His manners fair. He doesn’t tell the funniest jokes or wear the best clothes. He got average grades in college and he drives an older car.
But the way he looks at me with those eyes is perfect. When he laughs my heart skips a beat. When he holds me and tells me he loves me, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

Things converge favorably. Avoidance of disaster. Happy coincidence. Right place at right time.

It stares at me blankly, I understand exactly what it means, but I have none of it. In its mocking, i notice that is purple and not capitalized. But why?
Nick
what is luck? who has it? all it takes is being at the right place, at the right time, with the right attitude… recognizing how to make the most of what you have. Be creative, make your own luck. YOU are lucky!

lucky is awesome and stuff and the time is running out and what happens when the minute is over i’d like to know only a couple seconds left hooray hooray and its just aboouutttt tooooooooooooo end.

“do you feel lucky?” she asked, as she removed her shirt. truth was, i wasn’t – till now. the date had been going very poorly. she was quiet, i struggled to make conversation. i could feel a burning in my face, the red hot burn of a blush that wouldn’t stop. but then everything changed when we got home, and she asked me this question.
I’m feeling Lucky. He’s got a few bumps now that he’s old, and some scabby mange that’s never quite healed up, but on the whole, he’s doing well. Kisses.
I am so beyon lucky to have someone like him. To what this statement sounds of, you may think I am describing a ‘boyfriend’ or a ‘friend with benefits’. However, I am decribing what I consider to be my best friend, even though we are mistaken otherwise. He is intellegent, loyal, commical, and there to have my back with everything. No matter what, I can depend on him. Best of all, I feel completely safe with him. Lucky is an understatement to explain him.
It was the strangest feeling, to be lucky. to have everything throwing itself at you in such a beneficial manner. to have the world pouring gold into your shoes, making your footprints glimmer in the morning sun. It was so incredibly queer for me to feel this way. I was never lucky. At least, not really. Things never did go quite my way.
