You can’t really dismantle a word like mantle because to mantle mantle in the first place is quite a dismantling of it’s own. There are mantles for many things including other mantles at which there is no time to discuss. Mantles like who they are and fell that they should be respected as such.

I love the mantle at Christmastime. It seems that we’ve had the same stockings ever since I was little. I’m a big traditionalist as far as holidays go, keeping and using the same ornaments store bought or hand made year after year. So to see the old stockings hanging on the mantle is a reassuring sight to me.

She wore a gray mantle, her gray hair slid out of under it. She was steely gray everywhere, he decided. All gray, all old, all silver and strong and eternal. She was an antique brooch from the 15th century. She well aged like a casket of good wine.

the mantle sat bare as the wind howled outside. She thought about the family picture that used to hang there. Everything was gone now. The house was empty. This was the final stage in a long string of changes that were supposed to change her life. She was scared about what would happen next.

There is a mantle right behind me actually… We haven’t used it, or the fireplace in a while. Not since it was cold outside and its almost depressing to use it. It reminds me of the time I lived here. The christmas’ we had with my grandparents.

The fireplace was a place for family. The mantle was adorned with pictures, signifying days long past for the family. Yet, now, it bore only the haunting remnants of a home torn apart by evil. Detective Moralis ran his fingers over the dusty picture frames, his eyes resting on the faces of the Dirkson family, wondering what would cause someone . . . to end their lives.

mantles are not the best thing to place cups on. They could fall easily and spill everywhere. knick knacks could also fall off and break, or shatter, which ever way you look at it. Mantles are good places for metal objects if you ask me. Big metal owls or flowers, whatever you can find i guess. Mantles are made of wood so I suppose wood would be good too.

The mantle held most of her fond memories, the ones with her friends, her family. But there is one picture that makes her cry everytime she see’s it, its the picture of her mother. She past away almost 5 years ago. Now she can’t even look at the pictures. She hopes one day to see her mother again. When she does she will be the happiest person in the world.

The mantle sat on the wall. Ever so still. Always still. The mantle was tied to the wall as the wall was tied to the mantle. No one paid too much attention to this mantle, it just sat there… tied to the wall.
The wall decided one day to break its chain from this lonely mantle. Crack, crack, cracking.. went the wall. The mantle smashed to the floor into pieces. It was now part of a group of tiny mantle pieces.
