  7. an overused acclaim to express someone’s crowning achievement. Not always their own personal favorite, but often just the piece of work with the most “claim to fame”. Ironically, masterpieces have just resulted in the mass public misconstruing an artist/writer’s purpose. The fame isn’t there until they die.

Of course, I’d love for my masterpiece to be something artsy, as I am a dancer/singer/actress. But, if it’s just something like a lesson I teach or a story I leave behind, that’s close enough…

  17. The product of divinity. on that takes a lifetime to produce and learn how to produce. The peak of your life and something you will be remembered for and has the power to influence other people.

    It should be beautiful and make the viewer or benefactor from it feel emotionally powerful.

Masterpiece theatre was the night we all sat around the tv with popcorn that would get stuck in our teeth so that when we smiled or laughed we covered our mouths just to be sure there was nothing in it. But there always was. Little bits of corn and nothing but the tv with a show we weren’t really watching but watching just to spend time together.

  24. All masterpieces can be forgotten by time as quickly as they can be remembered. What matters is the kind of marketing and recognition that the masterpiece receives, especially by its creator. If da Vinci had locked his paintings away and never shown them to anyone, we would have no idea that he was creating such great things. By the same token, there may be hundreds of masterpieces lying around that we have no idea about.

  36. Her eyes were simply put, the most gorgeous I’ve seen. Chocolate brown pupils with watery blue, almost white irises, and they were clean, all-knowing in a sense. They were confident and capable of viewing the horrors she’d seen in Europe, but seeing the honey of her present. Her granddaughters graduation.
