8 Entries for “meals”

  1. I often take my meals alone. It isn’t difficult for me, seeing as my usual job requires me to be quite social. Being a doctor is… multifaceted. I enjoy the rewards and the company, but sometimes I value being solitary. The sound of nothing but a rustling napkin, a glass touching back down on the table.

  2. She works another tally mark into the wooden surface of the table and brushes away the shavings. It stands out, bright and shining, against its smooth, dark surface. Her face is lined with the squinted lines of dreaming.

  3. This prompt is really stupid and I hate it. I don’t like to eat meals. Meals make me anxious because I don’t like eating in front of other people, but whenever you eat a meal, that’s what you do. I wish that we just ate whenever we wanted to and didn’t have to have defined times for “meals”.

  5. Meals are important anytime but especially memorable at special occasions.
So, we feast and are thankful that we can.

  6. When cooking at home, I try to make everything in 20-30 minutes. I don’t relish the idea of slaving over a hot stove for an hour or two, only to have everything devoured instantaneously by my starving boyfriend. In a pinch, we eat sandwiches, but our favorite meals are quite balanced and delicious.

  7. It’s so important to gather around the table and enjoy a homecooked meal every now and again. At my father’s house, this is our special time to put down our phones, face each other, and enjoy the comforts of home. Let’s eat!

  8. I can get by pretty well, I’d say. I can afford three square meals a day. My house isn’t much, but it’s got a roof to keep me a dry and blankets to keep me hot. I’ve bought myself a toaster and a microwave so I’m not just eating sandwiches every day. I’m ready to move up, but for now, this is what I got – with the food that I eat and the house that I’ve bought.
