He was mercurial in every sense of the word. He changed from night to day in a heartbeat, and could kill you over time. He was Danger, hidden in a so lovely and mesmerizing a package, you didn’t know he would be your downfall until you were too far gone to save yourself.

I didn’t know everything though

Mercury is a poisonous liquid that lives in thermometers. If you drink it you die. cool huh? Not really. Someone spilled some, and everybody had to stand back while they carefully cleaned it up.
Jenna
Mercury is what is in thermometers. It is too hot in here right now, so the mercury in the thermometer would go up I bet. I like places where the mercury is low in the thermometer. Specifically, Boston. Why can’t I move thereeeeee? Ugh. I am tired.
jennie
I don’t know how it tastes. I don’t know if it even got into my mouth. I was too little to know it was dangerous. I was more afraid of getting in trouble for breaking the thermometer. My mother had set me on the kitchen table, stuck the thermometer in my mouth and then walked out of the room. I bit down too hard and broke it – and then placed one end in my mouth as if nothing had happened. She did notice. And I’m still alive to talk about it.

Kay’s blood boiled like hot mercury. She shouldn’t she shouldn’t she shouldn’t– she knew. But she kept thinking to herself, “Maybe it’s not such a bad thing.” She then wondered to herself why she felt the way she had this morning.

i tried to take my temperature with a mercury thermometer last weekend when i was sick and feverish. my dad made fun of me because i couldn’t get it to work, since i want to be involved in science when im older. “what kind of a future scientist are you?” he laughed.
sorry father of mine, if i was too weak to shake down the mercury thermometer.

if only it were rising for me. right now i feel like my life is at a steady 42 degrees. you know. not so cold that it freezes but not warm enough to be comfortable in a hoodie and jeans. just comfortable enough to be uncomfortable.

the thermometer burst and mercury got all over my tongue which began to swell at an alarming pace. I went to the doctors but when i tried to explain what happened to the doctor i found i could not speak at all.

An element that we found in my high school even though I’m pretty sure it’s illegal and can kill you. It is also a planet. A small one. It is in thermometer’s, or it used to be.

one word that comes to mind is patience, i wish i had more of it, i tend to get mad very easy and take my anger out on people to the point where i regret it. i wish i could have more patience with everybody in my life, if i did then i would be able to handle life situations alot better

mercury is a planet. it’s also a metal. a runny metal. as in liquid. it doesn’t have legs. the plant is the closest to the sun. it’s mega hot on one side, and mega freezing on the other. no atmosphere i think. i’d like to have some metal mercury to play with, but youget mercury poisoning if you handle it too long. could wear gloves i suppose…

Now I’m working on a fashion magazine I have to look the right way to gain respect. Doesn’t matter how crass my writing is, obviously. So I’m sweating it on the sweaty leather chair, tipped backwards whilst the dentist removes my silvery mercury fillings and replaces them with fashion friendly white stuff.

I tried to write a story last time, which was rather whack, and I wanted to try again, only now the timer’s going and I don’t know what I wanted to say.
mercury is… anything you want it to be.
I’d love it if mercury were cake if I’m honest.

The mercury dripped out of the jagged broken end of the thermometer. I sat in disbelief, staring at the instrument that had hung in my grandmother’s window for as long as I could remember. That something so small, so trivial, had this much effect on me was unheard of. But it had been there my whole life. And now it’s gone.

she fell from the sky, on a cool night, when the stars shone bright through the atmosphere. The liquid sheen of her hair seemed to fly around her face as she lifted her head so delicately to look around the barren district she’s landed in.

Mercury is not only a planet but also a chemical element. It is used in thermometers which leads to metaphors involving anger and temperature. I’m getting angry when my mercury is rising. also, mercury the planet has a hot and cold side because it is so close to the sun.

Mercury is poisoness. It was used in thermometers, but now it is not for fear of it breaking and killing someone. I like the planet mercery, because it reminds me of that stupid cartoon show Sailor Moon. I always wanted to be Sailor Mercury.

A bead of mercury rolled across the floor the night the thermometer broke. It hit the floor next to the side of the bed where Daddy slept. I was afraid Momma would be mad, but the next day, Daddy showed me how that droplet could shine a quarter.

mercury was the substance my brother got in trouble for “stealing” from the science lab at school, when really he only stole it at lunch break to show off to his friends and then returned aftwerwards, which was when another student must have come in and actually stolen it. he got in-class suspension, which i think sounds like complete hell, and lookie here that red bar is full soooo bye bye

I feel sickly as I stare up into the heavens. The thermometer ticks off the extent of my fever as I search for all of the hallmarks of my evening sky. Betelgeuse, AG-154…and, oh look — there’s the Little Dipper. I look at the temperature and the mercury says I’m running three degrees too hot.

I had fun with mercury in high school. we rolled it on our desks with our fingers. not like now where it is treated as a hazardess material. also, mercury is a planet that i don’t know much about. i don’t do planets.
