  25. The mist was thick and white, cloaking all. I shivered, bringing my sweater closer around me.

What was I doing here…? All alone, in a swamp, mist thicker than a knife could cut? The muddy water slushed around my feet, and I gave a sigh. It was better than being back there, at least.

    Wait…what was that?

I whipped around, my sightless eyes unblinking, staring through the mist.

Just a little bit further. Why couldn’t he reach? All he knew was that he had to reach this person, this figure. It was more important than anything else to reach them.

    Just a bit…

    Further…

    With a gasp, Matthew awoke.
