  3. She sat there, considering the nature of truth. After all, a myth could be made into a truth if one could simply convince enough people of it. One definition of truth that horrified her was, “A generally believed statement.” Uhm…that could be anything!

  8. This is a reminder that I need to read The Myth of Sisyphus by Camus. The only myth that I know very well is the myth pertaining to Persephone and Hades, where he kidnaps her in his chariot and takes her below to the Underworld, and he has her eat the forbidden fruit–the pomegranate. I wrote a poem pertaining to this once.

  12. Stargate and ancient artifacts. That’s what I think of. The tyranny of Ra and Apophis. Whatever, I’m sure that’s not what you were thinking. Myths built civilization as we know it, and it seems like they will bring it down. Bring it tumbling down.

    gods and godesses
    chariots afire
    and such
    or hinduism
    im taking a class on eastern religions.
    apparently theyve got myths too
    dont know what they are quite yet
    i will in the near future however

  17. It is a myth that all people can and want to understand one another. It is far easier to degrade and belittle those around us than it is to accept them. Why this is so, I don’t know. Perhaps we need a new myth to live by because the old is merely depressing.

  18. there are plenty of things that can be called myths. i can’t think of any right now but im sure there are a lot out there. myth hmm…4 letter word that can be taken into so many different ways by different individuals. how i take it is going to be completely different from the person that sees this next because i am my own unique individual.

  21. myths are people places things that you read as a child. wonder about when growing up. greek and roman mythology. myths become anything and everything as you get older, because your mind opens and you dont know what is real anymore and real actually “is”

  22. All greek stories are myths likes hercules and the trojan war. usually dealing with some sort of higher power or magical elements, elements that are not seen in the world today as possibilities.

  24. You know what they say about big hands, right? Wrong. Its a myth. Which I found myself debunking last Saturday night after a wild girls night out at the bar. He really had my expectations high too. Everything was great until his pants dropped. All I could think is “What the flamingo am I doing with this guy?” Needless to say I bolted while he was in the bathroom.

  29. Stories that explain a certain phenomenon. it can be passed down from generation to generation, and is influenced by culture and tradition. Different myths have different reasons for being, but all spirtitual, and educational in a way.

  36. I looked at all of the previous writings about myth and they were boring. Myths are sexy and full of dirty stuff even though you read it in high school. But myth is also something that we live. Like writing. It’s a myth that anyone can write. But this website tries to make you forget it isn’t true.
