Directionless. The sea rises and falls. Dark green and threatening. Ahead, wave-peaks. Behind as well. Just the rise and fall of it all and I’m lost, directionless.
Matt Gibson
I have tried to find my path but I’m just taken a different place I have tried to navigate my way through it but I feel like i just can’t fit in no matter where I go no one will like me. Navigation system cannot help me find my path, my parents can’t help me find my path, only God can.

navigation (a free verse poem for my book)
ok, so
i’m thankful for gps and google maps and all that stuff
but isn’t the point of those tools
to keep you from getting lost?
and
aren’t some of the very best memories made
when you’re lost?
not the times when your dad hits the curb cause he missed the turn
or your mom or little sibling is crying
but the times when you don’t really mind
being lost
like, the times when you find a cute little pastry shop
or a bookstore
to go in and rest and eat and laugh and
spend money your grandma gave you

It wasn’t the distance that frightened me. It was the navigation. He’d directed us to move through the trees and only at night, but with the unforseen circumstances causing the major world powers to crumble, I admit he didn’t full think the operate through. I trudged, I moved, and eventually found the compound. Five years later we’ve finally managed the outbreak; I guess he was right, after all.

Guide me. Guide me home. Guide me. Guide me to where I wanna be. Tell me where I wanna be. Too far from my desires, too far from knowing what I want. Guide me.
