  8. Back in high school, our school was run by nuns. We never saw them, but their presence pervaded the entire institution like a thick cloak. Hell, our uniforms even began to look like those dark, gloomy habits of theirs.

  9. Nun, none of that. No sex, but instead a true belief in what has not been experienced, in future and prayer and in faith. Faith, that stuff we all need and are too impatient for. The ideas that we wake up for and that keep us living every day, in hopes that we might get to even remotely experience what we fight to believe in because, with something core shaking, even a taste can make the wait worth it.

  12. People are often surprised when they see nuns. Maybe it’s because of their distinct culture, or the way they dress.

  13. nuns are interesting, there’s something about them that makes everyone want to run. run rhymes with nun, so it’s a simple realization that people would want to run from nuns. but i’ve never met a nun, so there’s nothing in it for me to really be afraid of. there’s nothing “special” about the fear of nuns for me.

  15. The word “nun” reminds me of two things. One, when I was in high school, one of my English teachers told us she at one time was studying to be a nun. At the time I believed her, but now I’m not so sure how that could be true. Two: I’m reminded of Maria from the “Sound of Music”. I’m not sure how I could NOT think of her.

  16. Tehre was never a point in my life that I would consider being a nun. The concept is so alien to me, and I wonder if they really are normal or are they emotional cripples. Is it normal to take that type of life?Does a religious zealousy really become part of a normal healthy psyche? Well, there are worse neuroses and psychoses, aren’t there?
