  1. Halloween is a wonderful holiday, but misunderstood. I love to dress in different clothing, feel the cool Autumn wind on my skin, and beg for candy. We run up and down the street, knocking on doors before the time is over to be allowed to knock.

    Kristy Kozuki
  2. The burnt cinamon is lingerin in the air. A trophy autumn day. Copper, brass and rusty leaves conversing with the wind, and as my feet embrace the earth, the crackling of leaves expired.

The grey sunned sky is the pulse of autumn like, allowing eyes to see true beauty. As her sight was aligned in the corner of my eye, time stopped breathing.

When October brings you down, cold snow soon to come around

  6. The sky is red with falling leaves. Wind is blistering. I can’t feel my fingers. Somehow, the world is lost to me in a sea of flesh and colour. The world, still unknown, is the peak of perfection at its greatest.

  8. October was when the leaves changed, back at home. October was when Mama made those nice pumpkin pies with the spicey filling that he loved. October, was nothing out here. October was a continued barren wasteland, changing only when one was running for their lives or being shot at. The only acknowlegement of live was, really, when you were going to die.

  12. There used to be a chill wind briskly winding it’s way up my city street. Now, in the “country”, it ebbs and flows between being a warm breeze and a dank chill. There is no rhyme or reason to the weather now. It makes me pine away for my long lost childhood in the city.

  13. the cool breeze gently flows against your skin as you walk peacefully through the baseball fields where so many days were spent during your summer, reminiscing about the times when you were free, you think about what lies ahead, the home work you have to do, and what your plans are for Halloween.

  14. October leaves litter the ground, scattered reds and oranges, like fire along the streets. October winds cool and refreshing, bringing the scent of trees and rain and lingering summer growth.

Amongst the falling leaves, there’s a hushed calm in the forests, anticipation of winter and complete isolation of the nights.

  15. It was fall and October was upon us. The plans for the hair salon were in place, but we still needed to finish painting the salon. Right now it was still flourescent yellow walls with flourescent green trim. Yuck! As the weather cooled we spent more and time fixing it up, in great anticipation of the opening day.

  22. Mid October, a cold wind blew and the tree leaves rustled with it. The night was beginning to break, and everyone who had stayed outside through the night began the long, arduous journey home. It wasn’t a large number of people, but many of them were part of the same group of night-owls.

  27. This is the month my best friend was born. She has been the light at the end of so many dark tunnels. We have known each other for 14 years now and even though I will always feel close to her no matter how much time passes between us I can feel her drifting away from me as well. We now live in different states. I am single. She is married. She has her friends. I have mine. One day she will have a family and so will I. She doesn’t ask about my life when I see her. She doesn’t ask if I am dating anyone or what life is like for me on a day-to-day basis, but maybe she’s okay with no knowing. Even though all of this is true, I know she will always be my sister and we will always find each other again.
