  9. warm something sylvia plath stuck her head in. something that can cook things but requires a lot of energy and makes me think more and more about raw food and the power to reduce energy output on a global level through simply refusing to cook. refusing to cook is great for the body as well- let’s all the natural proteins and fiber shine through… mmmmmm… warm but superficially so.

  17. Standing over the oven, she stood staring at the soup boiling and frothing. She had been doing this same routine for the past ten years. It was monotonous and she longed to break free… be herself… She wanted to go to school and be more then just a trophy wife. Her curled blonde hair and pale skin would get her far in this world, if only she had the courage to allow it.

  22. The fireplace roared temptingly. He hadn’t eaten for days and there was already a cauldron placed above it, just asking to be loaded with food. A quick glance around told Xavier that there was food littering the cupboard and pantries. They wouldn’t notice if something was gone but still, he hesitated. Seraphine specifically told him not to be noticed and too much time loitering in one place could be fatal.

  27. Why do I think about someone sticking their head in the oven to kill themselves when I see that word? That is demented, right? Because someone should think of their grandma and baking cookies, or at least about the fact that I just made some garlic bread in the oven, which is still called an oven in England, but when I first saw the word I thought about Bang, Bang You’re Dead and the kid putting his head in the oven and saying this is what it would look like if I killed myself.

  37. I have an oven in my kitchen that sucks. It doesn’t have a timer and the temperature gauge is off, so I am constantly checking to see whether or not my baked goods are burned. For some reason, I don’t think Betty Crocker would approve. Not that she would be impressed with my culinary skills in the first place…. I’m just saying, the oven doesn’t help my case.

  38. Oven food. The only thing I can ever be bothered to make whilst being a student. And not being able to cook provides a pretty valid excuse to be lazy in the kitchen. Microwave food is awful though. I have limits. Every student does, as much as they hate to admit it.
