  1. writer Beatles song summer at school playing out with pals.john or paul? I liked George he seemed quieter, less threatening maybe? Lindasy was very grown up….knowing my mother calle her and it wasn’t a compliment. She was a john fan.Constant war with rules and regulations at home. Judgements made on friends…not nice; bit common; like paperbacks – not proper books. Cheap tatty versions of the real thing.

  8. the paperback was dog-eared on its cover – no not dog-eared, the triangular flap was missing entirely. the pages, yellow and well-worn. the kind of sci-fi art you don’t see these days, faces painted in excruciating detail.

  9. All I can think of is the song by the Beatles: Paperback Writer. Not my favorite Beatles song but very catchy. Which is probably why that is the first thing that pops into my mind. Interesting.

  10. You’re just a paperback to me, she said with her wise cruelty. You’re so easy to use, you open up with the lightest touch, and believe me, you have nothing worthwhile to say.
Maybe that’s the case, I shot back with easy familiarity with her weakness, but at least I’m more popular than you. No one likes hardcover books; they’re too hard, too expensive, and never worth it in the end.

  11. The paperback lay on the table, I didn’t know whether to pick it up or not. I knew he wrote it for me, I could tell just by the title. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t screaming I LOVE YOU. But fireflies? That gives it all away.

  12. Nature abhor’s a knucklehead. In the past those have been known to die off, but our society seems to be bent on saving stupid people from themselves… creating a mud puddle gene pool from which to draw the fish of our future.

  14. Bending the paperback to break the spine, Sue settled into her routine. One book, one weekend. Bliss without the noise of children.

She loved her children, but a weekend with new friends of fiction, while the kids stayed at their dads, gave her a chance to reboot.

  16. A paperback novel is often the best. Hardbacks are so large and intimidating. Paperbacks infiltrate society, influencing us in subtle yet powerful ways. I wish I was a paperback, dog-earred from many readings and much use. Then I would be satisfied.

  17. A paperback novel. That’s all she wanted to write. none of that hard-cover crap, the books so expensive no one could buy. No, all she wanted was to write a long novel, but one that kept people interested. one with a message. one with a simple meaning, but that was so complex. Yes, thats what she wanted, a paperback novel.

  19. Paper back books are the simple way of getting more money for text book because you know the students are going to ruin them. it is practically imposible not to ruin them. It is the way publishers rip off schools.

  20. With little to do or resources to support it, my book will only be available in paperback. Hard covers are for yuppie libaries and what I have to say has no place there. My book will be for back pockets.

  22. Carefully she lined the paperbacks on the shelf. When she came across a bent or torn one she set it aside. Carefully she laid out the bent copies, smoothing them as flat as she could. Hefting a heavy encyclopedia, she set it carefully atop the paperbacks to fix the bends. The torn paperbacks were analyzed, and the ones that were unfix-able went into the meticulously sorted recycling. She carefully mended the remaining books and shelved them.

  23. The paperback folder laid upon the bright yellow counter. In it contained all the details of the case that would determine him guilty or innocent. They claim he killed a man, he claims he didn’t, but the truth is a lie and a lie a truth. It’s a mixed world with only two knowing the truth, and the only other happens to be dead, so guesswork is all the answer can be.

  24. oh, the paperback novel, how it was frayed and torn. loved so truly and dearly by the one who held it. many tears had dried on its pages, her laughter resounded between the words. this is the power of books.

  26. life is like a paperback book, containg so many emotions and yet so flimsy. there is no garuntee that everything will be fine, and the bok might break at ay given time. but it is bound together by many events, and many people are brought together like pages in a book. without the others, it would be meaningless and confusing.

  27. Paperback is better than hardback! You can bend it and throw it at windows without smashing it. It shows its age better – its wrinkled fingered pages show the hours of pleasure it has given to its interested readers!

  28. i never buy hardcover, they’re too big and too expensive. Plus I’m patient. I dont mind waiting for the paperback to come out. unfortunately there were a couple times I simply could not wait for the newest book in a series. I bought the hardcovers and now they’re sorely out of place.

  40. paper back is a book with a paper instead of a hard cover. people use these because its less money and you don’t have to keep care of it as well. i think they are good and the hard backs are just so dang pointless its crazy! they are very boring and i just use hard backs as paper stayers.
