  1. He sat in the restuarant and ordered for a coffee…
It was then when he saw the lady sitting opposite to him..She was busy reading a paperback book with a front photo of a romantic couple in a hugging position…!! He got sad.. She came to his mind..!!

  2. paper back is a description of a type of book. books that are paperback are usually novels, or “novellas”. That sounds kind of like the feminine of a novel. It could be, I honestly don’t know. Its interesting how there are feminine and masculine words.

  3. novel, paper, tawdry, hard to hold, cheap, cheap, cheap, sordid, lengthy, bookstore, small print, falls apart, good, bad.

  6. You told me about this paperback book, standing in the fiction aisle. i already had a book in my hands, perched atop a comfy red chair, but there you were, talking to me as if you knew me, as if i wasn’t already reading something. you captured my attention for a couple minutes. when you left, the pages of the book before me seemed empty. i bought that paperback.

  7. a book without a solid cover, typically a short novel, but not always. It is less expensive to buy compared to a hard cover book.

  8. I sit upon a chair,
I chair that is not whatsoever comfy.
Looking down upon the glossy wood,
Something looks back up at me.
    Rather plain,
    Bound by glue,
I feel as though it’s glaring.
    Then I remember,
    The words it holds,
    And state,
    “It’s just a paperback!”

  9. books i love reading especially now that i have been freed of the monotony of having a job with someone else. I love being by myself and working for myself I hope that business will drum up here soon.

  10. She picked up the book. Paperback. Cheaper, more worn. Not like hardback. But it was his book, so It didn’t matter. She loved it more perhaps. in its pages were notes, and scribbles. Hardbacks had nothing on this book.

  11. Fragile things, worn in and well used, their pages dog-eared and torn, her flimsy best friends. Books were always there for her when friends were not, they kept her company, made her laugh, made her cry, and most importantly, filled her head with wonder and imagination. And when the world began to crumble around her, she was safe.

  12. If my life were a paperback…
a student would try and do a book report on it, and endlessly search for a conflict, a climax, a theme. They’d never find one.

Not even action, thrills, or drama.

All they would find are the complaints of a teenage girl, always waiting for her life to start.

If my life were a paperback…
    it’d have a two-star rating on amazon.com

  13. I have lots of paperback novels. What I like about paperback, as opposed to hardback, novels is that you can bend the cover over to read just one page. Plus if you read the book, often you get creases on the spine. That way people know that you have read the book often.

  16. I am an editor. Or rather I will be. Paperback writers are my specialty.

And now I’m thinking of the Beatles. Paaaperbaaack, paaaperbaaaack WRIIIITERRRRRR.

  17. you’re spineless
    just like a paperback book
    you’re flimsy
    floppy and easy to tear.

    why can’t you be hardcover?

  18. It was much loved, the pages wrinkled here and there, the odd corner turned down to mark the reader’s place. The inscription inside the front cover was puzzling however….who was “Denise”?

  21. I turned the book over in my hands and scratched my head. The summary was very interesting and the price was reasonable but something about it made me feel strange. I usually didn’t buy books, this one happened to fall from a shelf onto my shoulder and I picked it up to make people think I dropped it on purpose. I walked to the counter and bought it. It couldn’t be that bad right? Or so I thought.

  22. paper back books are amazing. The word makes me think f the beatles. boos are better in paper back. they become yours, folded and creased in your specific way. the edges become worn and they show the amount of love you give them and your wear and tear, in the way a hardback can’t

  23. i dusted off the skin
of the last paperback you told
me to read. i read cracks into the
covers and tears into the spaces between
the words, they were stale smelling and the
ink looked glossed by time, but i
could read the sentences that you penciled
under, the lines that rang like a spoon
    dropped to the kitchen floor-tiles.

until then, i will dust off your paperbacks,
folding the pages with my fingernails, waiting,
    esperando, for the perfect instance.

  24. He poured his heart and soul into these three-hundred-seventy-some-odd pages,
all moist and bent and tattered, like
    an aged, saturated rag doll;
after twenty minutes caught in the rain,
    they’ve become unintelligible mush,
the ink running down wood pulp so soaked it can’t be recycled,
    a waste of time,
    a waste of space,
a waste of the human heart and soul.

  29. Paperback books are little known treasures. After all, their more expensive hardcover counterparts are much more valuable, right? However, these little treasures contain all the knowledge one needs, for a small price. It educates everyone and anyone for an extremely small price.

  30. It was a constant thing. Every morning, and every evening she was in the same exact seat, with her nose in a book. Or not quite the same seat, and not ever the same book twice.

  34. i’ve often bought paperback books. books i knew nothing about, but books i, for one reason or another, just had to have. i wanted something to read, i wanted something to get into for a short moment in time. so, after barely any consideration whatsoever, while standing in a favorite bookstore, i’d reach for a seemingly random book, snatch it up and begin reading it practically on my way home.

  35. I was wandering in the library when a paperback dropped to the floor as I accidentally brushed against it. Bending down to pick it up, I suddenly recognized it. It was a children’s book I had read when I was six years old, sitting in my grandmother’s lap. I found a cozy corner and began to read, lost in memories of the past.

  37. The Beatles. They were a pretty good band, I suppose. Never properly to my taste, but everyone else raves about them, so I learnt the words to their songs and can happily join in with singalongs and the likes. Maybe I’m a sheep, but it makes me some friends, I guess.

  38. I do not care much for paperback books. Hard cover is so much better because it does not rip easily. Nor does it get destroyed as easily as a hard cover book. Paperback sucks.

  40. she flipped through the dusty paperback, the hardwood floors creaked beneath her as she shifted the weight between her feet. and she only wondered how she had come upon such a treasure trove. the used book store stood shoddy against the new convenience centers and large malls, almost threatened to be smothered.
